URMI NEGI, producer, director and actress of BATHAUN, Garhwali film receives 2 Intl awards, congrats
The managing director of Snowy Mountains production , eminent director, producer, writer and actress of Uttarakhand cinema having also acted in several Hindi movies like Swami Dada, Sautam etc with legendary actors Devanand, Rajesh Khanna, Mithun Chakraborty etc including regional movies of Bhojpuri, Nepali, etc , URMI NEGI was felicitated with Iconic Bharat Gaurav Puruskar on 26 th January in Thailand for best film making, script writing, direction and production. Her Garhwali feature film BATHAUN, THE SEQUEL OF SUBHERU GHAM has been adjusted as the best movie in the regional film category winning accolades among the audience IN PANORMA FILM FESTIVAL. SHE WAS ALSO AWARDED FOR SUBHERU GHAM 2, BATHAUN.
Receiving two international awards for a regional movie is indeed an outstanding achievement for which Urmi NEGI deserves to be wholeheartedly complimented. Kudos. Urmi Negi’s Subheru GHAM earlier had also win several awards and recognitions having won award in the Canada Film Festival as well. The then UK CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and former CM n the then HRD minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had also felicitated Urmi NEGI in a grand function at Dwarka, and, Rohini New Delhi. She us credited for producing a regional film of her own namely FYONLI and winning accolades by enacting the main role as heroine in ” Ghar Jawain”, “Kauthig” Etc. The Film BATHAUN was shot during the covid times under extremely challenging situation when the government permitted her to do so with shooting executed at the serene locations of Garhwal Uttarakhand bringing her entire shooting crew from Mumbai. The movie carries a tremendously good social message on exodus toto metropolises for want of job with her first self produced movie SUBHERU GHAM carrying a message against prevalent of illicit liquor in Uttarakhand.
