Union state minister of Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta demands action against the Himachal Pradesh minister for manhandling the NHAI officers and condemns the incident

The union minister of state for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta has taken a very serious view of the misconduct and subsequent attack on the NHAI, PIU Shimla officers on 30 th June by the Panchayati Raj minister of Himachal Pradesh government condemning it in strongest possible terms and legal stringent action against the guilty with immediate affect. The union state minister for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta has said that this issue has already been brought in the knowledge of the chief secretary of the Himachal Pradesh government by the chairman of NHAI Mr. Santosh Kumar Yadav through a strong letter demanding institution of an impartial in depth probe in this matter and taking legal action against all those responsible for manhandling of NHAI officers on 30 th June 2015. The minister said : I strongly condemn this type of violence and expect that strict action will be taken against the culprits as soon as possible adding further that such incidents not only pose a challenge to law and order but also hinder the implementation of development projects of the country. The incidents took place on 30 June , 2025 at the project of NHAI venue Shimla Bypass, Bhatakufar Shimla. The minister Ajay Tamta tagged the union minister for Transport and highways Nitin Gadkari and the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Earlier in a letter addressed to the chief secretary , Government of Himachal Pradesh Pramod Saxena the NHAI chairman said that they the manhandling of the officers of NHAI , PIU Shimla by Shri. Anirudh Singh , Punchayati Raj minister , Government of HP in the presence of the SDM rural Shimla has occured on 30 th June at Bhatakufar near Shimla Bypass . The officers of NHAI has sustained grave injuries and were later hospitalised . The letter adds that such an event not only raises questions on the deficiencies on the law and order system of the state but also hampers the morale of the officers of NHAI working at the field level. He demanded a thorough probe and penalisation of the guilty.
