Union state minister Ajay Tamta honours the leader of the 34 member team of Indian Army Lt. Col.Manoj Joshi who succeeded in conquering Mount Everest

The union minster state for roads and transport Ajay Tamta today honoured lieutenant Colonel Manoj Joshi with a prestigious trophy in New Delhi for sale successfully climbing the highest peak in the world Mount Everest along with his team of dedicated bravehearts comprising of fifty members.

Originally hailing from from village Manya ( Dungra) Almora district the parliamentary constituency of state minister Ajay Tamta it was al the more significant an occasion to meet and honour him at his Delhi office cum residence. The jubilant union state minister and Almora MP Ajay Tamta said this outstanding achievement is a proud moment for Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and is a source of inspiration for our youth, especially the youth of the hilly region. He expressed his tremendous happiness to honour Lt. Colonel Manoj Joshi for conquering the highest peak in the world including wishing his dedicated team members of Indian all the very best in all their future endeavours.

It may be recalled that an upright officer in India Army Lt. Colonel Manoj Joshi is known for leading the Indian Army’s Silver Jubilee Everest Expedition, which successfully summited Mount Everest in May 2025. He was the leader of the 34- member team following the traditional South Col Route. He also led a joint Indo-Nepal expedition to Mount Kangchenjunga.

Additionally, he is involved with the CISM Climbing for Peace event on Mt. Elbrus in Russia. He is also credited for the 3rd CISM Climbing for Peace event on Mt. Elbrus (5462m), the highest peak in Europe, in Russia, leading a team of six (five male and one female). The union Defence minister Rajnath Singh had flagged off the expeditions to Mount Everest and Mount Kanchenjunga on 3 rd April 2025.
