Under CM Dhami’s Instructions, Sudden Raids on Liquor Shops

Under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s instructions, a team from the administration and excise department is conducting a raid on over 100 liquor shops across the state on Tuesday. The sudden operation has created a state of panic among liquor shop operators.

CM Dhami has been receiving complaints about overpricing and smuggling of liquor in various regions of the state for a long time. In response, CM Dhami instructed the administration and excise department to conduct an operation to curb these issues. Consequently, the team is carrying out raids on liquor shops in Pithoragarh, Almora, Nainital, Bageshwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Haridwar, Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Pauri Garhwal districts on Tuesday.

CM Dhami has issued strict instructions that if overpricing complaints are found to be accurate and if the stock and sales registers are not maintained, the shops should be sealed. Overpricing and liquor smuggling will not be tolerated in the state. The team has been directed to conduct periodic raids and take strict action against smugglers.
