Ukhand CM Dhami directs DMs to be on alert mode n provide immediate relief to affected inhabitants

The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami today interacted with the district magistrates virtually and instructed them to be always on alert mode to proactively carryout the relief operations in various parts of Uttarakhand affected by massive rains during the monsoons.

The chief minister was taking stock of the situation arising out of deluge due to massive rains in Uttarakhand and its subsequent prompt management.

The chief minister while interacting with district magistrates instructed them not be be negligent, lessening the response time in order to provide timely relief to affected inhabitants due to heavy rains.

He categorically said that all the concerned calamity management departments and agencies should establish due coordination in order to avoid any communication gap in the process.

He ordered to immediately rectify and restore the blocked roads due to landslides, damaged water and electricity lines and also execute the mock drills to keep themselves proactively prepared to deal with any such critical situations.

He also instructed the district magistrates to grant immediate monetary compensations to the affected families and arrange for urgent supplies of food grains, medicines and treatment to the injured including restoring the communication network.

Emphasising on rehabilitating and evacuating the deluge n calamity hit families and persons the chief minister directed to evacuate them at safer places with all the necessary facilities.

He also ordered the district magistrate of Uttarkashi to personally visit the people of Arakot to provide them every possible relief.

He also sought the information about the brutal killing of a woman in Devprayag by a man eater further instructing the DMs to take the services of geologists and frequent use of Helicopters during calamity situations providing prompt n timely relief to the victims and the affected families.

Those present in this meeting were chief secretary Dr. S. S. Sandhu, additional chief secretary Manisha Panwar, Anand Vardhan, DGP Police Ashok Kumar, secretary Nitesh Jha, Dilip Jawalkar, SA Murugeshan, and senior officers of ITBP, BRO, IMD and NDRF and DMs.
