UKD and Uttarakhand Parivartan Party leaders and activists protest and burn effigy demanding immediate release of journalist, activist Ashutosh Negi and others

The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and Uttarakhand Parivartan Party activists today protested at Ram Nagar and raised anti BJP government slogans demanding withdrawal of all the fabricated cases on frivolous charges against the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal leaders journalist and advocate Ashutosh Negi and Ashish Negi branding them as history sheeters. They also burnt the effigy saying that Ashutosh Negi had been at the forefront since day one of the disappearance of innocent Ankita Bhandari and relentlessly fought her case till Supreme Court demanding the exposure of the VIP, the key culprit, who led to the brutal murder of the 19 year old innocent girl. The three culprits belonging to BJP are already behind bars for brutally murdering the girl. Ashutosh organised and participated in umpteen protests to seek justice for Ankita Bhandari and was also arrested in an unsubstantiated fake case under SC ST act and was behind bars, now on bail. He had been assistent professor in Garhwal University and a practising advocate apart from being a journalist of repute in Pauri Garhwal having exposed number of scams. In the present fabricated case also he alongwith the office bearers of UKD he had gone to a hotel to negotiate with the owner to give the blocked salary of the employees but instead of giving back the salaries the owner filed a complaint and FIR lodged terming Ashutosh and others as history sheeters , a clear case of political vendetta say the UKD and Uttarakhand Parivartan Party leaders. Currently Negi duo and a third UKD activist are in jail having been remanded to 14 days judicial custody. Yesterday and a day before yesterday there have been several demonstrations in Rishikesh , Kotdwar and Dehradun with several activists courting arrests demanding immediate release of the UKD leaders and withdrawal of all the fabricated cases against them. There were thousands of angered protestors demanding their immediate unconditional release including withdrawal of all the fake cases. In adition to the Ram Nagar protests and effigy burning, at Dwarhaat too a protest Dharna was organised led by the former MLA and senior leader of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal Pushpesh Tripathi in which several protestors demanded immediate release of the arrested UKD leaders Ashutosh and Ashish Negi and one another UKD activist including withdrawal of all the fake cases registered against them.
