UDF MPs protest at Parliament precincts against the harrasment and arrest of nuns in Chattisgarh

Several members of parliament held a strong protest at the parliament precincts accusing Bajrang Dal activists as goons for victimization , harrasment and arrest of the Catholic nuns in Durg Chattisgarh.

The members of parliament of UDF were holding placards with slogans ” Government’s silence is violence”, Stop Violence on minorities” etc and were also raising slogans demanding arrests of the culprits and stringent legal action against them including release of the nuns.

The General Secretary of AICC organisation Mr. Venugopal said on X : UDF MPs held a strong protest outside Parliament today against the shocking arrest and harassment of Catholic nuns in Durg in Chhattisgarh. They were targeted by a violent mob despite no wrongdoing.

By the BJP-RSS ecosystem, all minorities are treated as criminals and lumpen elements are unleashed to intimidate fellow citizens practising their faith.

This jugalbandi between Bajrang Dal goons and the police in Chhattisgarh shows the BJP’s real intent towards religious minorities.

We demand their immediate release and justice for the innocent nuns said K.C.Venugopal in his statement.

The Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi said in X : Two Catholic nuns jailed in Chhattisgarh after being targeted for their faith – this isn’t justice, it’s BJP-RSS mob rule.

It reflects a dangerous pattern: systematic persecution of minorities under this regime.

UDF MPs protested in Parliament today. We will not be silent. Religious freedom is a constitutional right. Rahul Gandhi demanded their immediate release and accountability for this injustice
