Two dead bodies of HNB Garhwal central university students found in Alaknanda river by SDRF divers after intensive search
There is a shocking news of two students of Hemwati Nandan Garhwal Central University, studying in its Chauras Campus Srinagar Garhwal having been drowned in Alaknanda river due to its overriding tides on the day of Holi festival on 18 th March where they were reportedly gone for bathing.
The exact reason of their being drowned has however not been ascertained till yet.
The SDRF rescue team which got the information about two university students having been drowned in Alaknanda river in Srinagar, Garhwal from the Police authorities found the dead bodies after the intensive search operation when the divers dived about 20 to 30 feet deep down for hours together.
Both the dead bodies of the boys having died probably due to asphyxiation after being drowned have been recovered by SDRF rescue team.
According to news pouring in the dead students are, 19 year old Ankit Choudhary, a student of BSC ( Forests) and another Hariom, third year BSC student of HNB Garhwal University, both originally hailing from Bharatpur Rajasthan.
The students had gone for taking bath on the bank of river Alaknanda near Chouras bridge who got trapped in the rising tides of the fast flowing river not able to save themselves, may be due to not been proficient in swimming.
However, the local police is trying to ascertain the exact reasons behind these deaths, with both the bodies sent for post mortem and case handed over to Pauri, Garhwal district police.
