Two dead and 20 injured after a bus falls in a gorge 200 metres down in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh

A severe accident has happened at Mandi in Himachal Pradesh due to massive rains leading to a bus with twenty five passengers on board falling down in a deep gorge several hundred metres below severely injuring twenty passengers and two of them dead on the spot.

After the driver lost the control due to slippery roads etc the bus fell two hundred metres deep down in the gorge with passengers crying and their terrified shrieks coming out with the bus taking several twists and turns speedily rolling down uncontrollably killing two passengers brutally and injuring twenty.

According to the latest news this major road tragedy occurred in Patrighat, Mandi district of HP where the speeding bus fell two hundred metres down with two deaths and nearly 20 passengers receiving grievous injuries.

The massive rains that resulted in the accident also led to delay and immense difficulty in rescue operations taking the injured to hospitals.

The SDRF, local police , ambulances and paramedics did hard work to retrieve the dead bodies and injured from the difficult accident site.

The bus was carrying twenty five passengers altogether out of which twenty were injured severely and two dead.

The local populace also came to the rescue of the injured along with police and SDRF by reaching the accident site on time and using ropes to pull the passengers out of the debris at the accident site with the SDRF, and the local police personal.

The injured were immediately after retrieving them from the gorge rushed to the twenty kilometres away hospital at Narchowk.

Some people are feared having been trapped under the debris of the heavy bus being pulled out.

The chief minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has while expressing his deepest condolences on this accident said that the news of several casualties due to the accident of a private bus in Sarkaghat subdivision of Mandi district and a Tempo Traveller on Koksar-Rohtang road in Lahaul-Spiti district is extremely sad and heartbreaking.

I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured a speedy recovery.

The administration of both the districts has been directed to conduct relief and rescue operations effectively, provide all possible assistance to the affected people and ensure proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
