Two children of a family of 10 and 12 years killed after a wall fell on them at Dhanaulti, Garhwal, Uttarakhand
Rains have created havoc in Uttarakhand where flash floods have claimed several lives. Yesterday at Village Marora in Dhanaulti Tehsil under the jurisdiction of Tehri Garhwal district two children had succumbed to grievous injuries after a wall of their house fell on them due to excessive rains. This dreaded tragedy that killed two children after the debris of the wall led to their asphyxiation has, sent shock waves all around in Dhanaulti and Tehri Garhwal district. The grandfather of the deceased children was also injured but the parents were fortunate enough to have saved themselves as they were in another room that wasn’t damaged. According to the police station in charge of Dhanaulti there was heavy rainfall the entire night yesterday and at 2.00 AM all of a sudden the wall of the house of village Marora fell down with a huge bang and both the children who were sleeping came under the debris of the damaged wall dying of asphyxiation n injuries. The police reached the accidental spot hurriedly and called the ambulance service. They were retrieved from the debris and taken in 108 Ambulance Service to PHC Satyo where the doctors declared them brought dead. The names of the deceased children are Sneha, daughter of Pravin Dass aged 12 years and Ranvir aged 10 years.
