Tussle between Harish Rawat and Harak Singh Rawat comes in the open with the former claiming, had he not saved former CM TSR, his political career would have been ruined

A startling disclosure by the cabinet minister in Uttarakhand government Dr. Harak Singh Rawat about his attempt to save the former chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat from being allegedly arrested when the then Congress chief minister Harish Rawat wanted the later to be arrested in Dhaincha Seeds scam has created quite a furore and sensitivity in the media and political circles of Uttarakhand, especially when elections of the state are round the corner.

Till this startling revelation was made by the former CM of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat’s bete noire Uttarakhand minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat in an interview to a news channel New 18 two days ago, it was believed that the former Congressman chief minister Harish Rawat has allegedly saved Trivendra Singh Rawat by closing the Dhencha Beej Scam on the basis of the report of Tripathi Commission, which had not found anything untoward in the charges against TSR.

But, after these shocking revelations by outspoken politician of Uttarakhand Dr. Harak Singh Rawat who is infamous for changing several parties from Congress to BJP and Bahujan Samaj Party, the people came to know that not Harish Rawat but the then Agriculture minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat’s two page note has led to no action being taken against TSR in Dhaincha Seeds Scam.

Speaking to channel News 18, Dr. Harak Singh Rawat had catagorically said that though these days both former CMs, Harish Rawat and Trivendra Singh Rawat are in good terms lauding each other publicly despite being in different parties, the fact is that the former chief minister Harish Rawat had almost decided to arrest Trivendra Singh Rawat when he kept the file at AIIMS Delhi under his pillow.

Had he not written a two page positive note favouring Trivendra Singh Rawat, not only would he been arrested but would not have become Uttarakhand CM as his political career would have been completely ruined said Rawat in his interview.

Today Harish Rawat is lauding Trivendra Singh Rawat and the latter speaking against him ( Dr. Harak Singh Rawat) being a non serious politician always issuing biased statements , but the fact of the matter is, had I not supported him and wrote the two page note, Harish Rawat, the then CM in 2017 would have arrested him said Harak Singh Rawat in an interview to News 18. Harish Rawat has while ridiculing and criticizing Dr Rawat few days ago has equated him as a desperate OX/ bull who damages everything going haywire

He also revealed that though he was the Congress minister under Harish Rawat, he had shown the note of favour for TSR to Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and Ajay Bhatt, who are today governor of Maharashtra and union minister.

Kindly recall that when former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat was agriculture minister of Uttarakhand on February 10 the Agriculture directorate ( Krishi Nideshaalay) has released a tender of 15000 quintal Dhaincha seeds which was allegedly alloted to a firm on lesser rates than the actual prevailing rates leading to a scam.

In the year Tripathi Commission was formed to probe into this scandal and its report was submitted but could not be implemented as the matter had become subjudice due to it being in the High Court of Uttarakhand in which allegations of corruption were levelled against the then agriculture minister, secretary agriculture and some senior officers.

The commission established in the year 2013 was headed by the then IAS officer Sushil Chandra Tripathi to probe six cases including Dhaincha Seeds and Siturjia land scandal including scams related to irregularities in allotments of hydropower projects in Uttarakhand.

Dr Harak Singh Rawat now cabinet minister in BJP govt under Pushkar Singh Dhami was earlier minister in Congress government of Vijay Bahuguna n Harish Rawat, both from 2013 to 2017. He was minister during the four year tenure of the former CM TSR as well, but wasn’t in good terms with him as the latter has divested him of the chairmanship of Construction Workers Welfare Board of Uttarakhand without consulting him.
