Tributes paid to the first n original superstar Rajesh Khanna at Rajesh Khanna The Treat at Chanakyapuri
Yesterday was the thirteenth death anniversary of the first and original superstar of Bollywood Rajesh Khanna for whom was for the very first time in Mumbai film industry coined the word Supar Stardom during seventies when he gave back to back ten to fifteen super duper hit movies becoming Golden and diamond Jubilees in Theatres around the country.
A tribute paying event was organised by his ardent fan like younger brother Vipin Oberoi whom Kaka loved and respected too much at the precincts Rajesh Khanna – The Treat at Diplomatic enclave Chanakyapuri , New Delhi near Matreyi College.
Many singers sang Rajesh Khanna films’ super duper hit mesmerising songs and made the day memorising which his fans enjoyed to the hilt.
The event was commenced by organising a Havan and spiritual chants of Mantras by a priest and thereafter paying Floral tributes to the Superstar of the millenium who was the heart throb of millions.
The Times Now Foodie channel, ANC India etc also covered the event. Vipin Oberoi and his wife n other friends like Sunil Negi, former advisor media to Rajesh Khanna n senior journalist , MD of Kailash Group of Hospitals Dinesh Sharma , Director Elite Elevators Rakesh Dhasmana , Roop Gusain, etc presented mesmerising Bollywood songs of Kaka’s hit films including singers of Malik Musical group enthralling the audience comprising of his fans who loved Kaka like anything.
Hundreds of the residents of J.J.clusters, construction workers, auto rickshaw drivers n the local residents hailing from the lower middle class were also distributed food packets.

It may be recalled that the Rajesh Khanna food Van The Treat which serves delicious meals daily was given to Vipin Oberoi by Rajesh Khanna when he was the MP from New Delhi parliamentary constituency. Kaka used to visit here very often and serve the poor on his birthdays when he was alive. He was very find of the delicious dishes of this food outlet.
Vipin Oberoi as a mark of respect organises functions on Kaka’s birth and death anniversaries on 29 th December and 18 th July every year and distributes free blankets, serves food and even clothes to the needy persons of the society.
Yesterday was the 13 th death anniversary of Rajesh Khanna. Kindly recall that the then prime minister Rajiv Gandhi who himself adored Kakaji as a leading superstar n saw his number of films chose him as an official Congress candidate from New Delhi parliamentary constituency in 1991 pitted against BJP stalwart Lal Krishna Advani.
Though Kaka lost against Advani by merely 1500 votes , Advani who had won from Gandhi Nagar seat, Gujarat as well, retained it n left New Delhi seat .
Shatrughan Sinha his counterpart in Bollywood was brought into the fray by BJP though the former denied contesting against Kaka but agreed later on after Atal Bihari Vajpayee pressurised him to contest. Kaka defeated Shatrughan Sinha with about 29000 votes from New Delhi. Kaka breathed his last in 19 th July 2012 at his Mumbai Bungalow Ashirvaad leaving his millions of fans awestruck, shocked n anguished.
