TRIBUTES PAID TO FORMER PM RAJIV GANDHI IN NEW DELHI on his birth anniversary

New Delhi, 20 August 2024: Indian Youth Congress today organized a huge program titled “Hum Mein Hai Rajiv” on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of the country Bharat Ratna late Shri Rajiv Gandhi . The program was organized at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi. The program was started by lighting the lamp by the president of Youth Congress Srinivas BV and national Incharge Shri Krishna Allavaru . On this occasion, Youth Congress workers from all over the country were present. After lighting of the lamp, tributes was paid to former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi through various cultural and other musical programs.
Many senior leaders of Congress Party and eminent social workers of the society also attended today’s program and addressed all the Youth Congress colleagues present there. AICC General Secretary Shri Sachin Pilot, Chairman of AICC Media Department Shri Pawan Khera, AICC General Secretary and Lok Sabha MP Tariq Anwar,Chairman of AICC Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Department Meenakshi Natarajan, Lok Sabha MP (from Manipur) Dr. Vimal, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Shri Devendra Yadav addressed all the Youth Congress workers present there and highlighted the contribution of Shri Rajiv Gandhi Ji towards the country.
On this occasion the Indian Youth Congress chief Srinivas BV said that former Prime Minister Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi was the son of India, with his strong determination he enhanced the honor of Mother India. Rajiv ji will always remain alive in the development, progress, unity, integrity of this country and in the hearts of all of us said the IYC chief while paying him his tributes. He also said that former PM Rajiv Gandhi was an architect of modern India, who worked towards making India strong and self-reliant resulting in the country benefiting from his foresight. It is his foresight that has put India in the category of strong, modern nations he asserted adding that Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi is still with us. Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji, who became Prime Minister at the age of 40, worked towards laying the foundation of modern India said sriniwas BC. Terming the former PM as the true architech of modern India he said that Rajiv Gandhi ji is called the architect of Digital India and the father of information technology and telecommunication revolution as on his initiative, the widespread Indian telecommunication network was established, spreading from cities to villages, so that the people of the village could also connect with the country and the world in terms of communication. He also lauded former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi for taking the initiative to make the youth of 18 years of age more responsible and empowered towards the country by giving them the right to vote.
The national Incharge of IYC Mr Allavaaru said that Rajiv Gandhi believed that industries cannot develop without the help of science and technology and in this sequence he worked towards bringing computer revolution in the country. With the thought that the institutions associated with Panchayati Raj can do development work strongly, Shri Rajiv Gandhi strengthened the Panchayati Raj system in the country said Allavaru. Shri Rajiv Gandhi believed that till the Panchayati Raj system is not strong, democracy cannot reach the lower level. During his tenure, he got the complete proposal of the Panchayati Raj system prepared. With the thought that the children of villages should also get excellent education, former PM Rajiv Gandhi laid the foundation of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. At present, more than 1.80 lakh students are studying in 551 Navodaya Vidyalayas opened in the country said IYC incharge Allavaru. Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji also encouraged youth and sports. He also said that Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji was and will remain the hero of the country, who will always be remembered for his martyrdom, his ideas, and for being the creator of modern India.
National Incharge of Indian Youth Congress and AICC Joint Secretary Shri Krishna Allavaru ji said that Rajiv Gandhi ji wanted women to come forward and participate strongly in the politics of the country. He believed that the social and economic status of women should be strong. Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji has left his wide mark on major decisions like foreign policy, defense policy, economic reforms, women and youth empowerment, strengthening the roots of democracy in his one tenure. Late Rajiv Gandhi ji is an inspiration for every youth of the country, he was always immortal, and will remain immortal.
Many types of cultural and musical programs were also organized in the “Hum Mein Hai Rajiv” Samagam program. Many National office bearers of Youth Congress, State Presidents and many youth congress workers from across the country were present in today’s program. Other prominent leaders who spoke on the ocassion were Tariq Anwar , Pawan Khera, Sachin Pilot etc.
