Today is legendary first and original superstar Rajesh Khanna’s death anniversary. It was on 18 th July, 2012 that this heart throb of millions, an iconic super star of the millennium Rajesh Khanna aka Kaka breathed his last in Mumbai with his last words being ” TIME IS UP! PACK UP. Selected from among ten thousand entrants in the talent show organised by the Mumbai Film Industry’s Producers Association as an outstanding hero with his first film being “Akhiri Rasta” a stylish actor with exceptionally charming personality ruling the hearts of unaccounted number of girls, colouring his white Mercedes with pink lip sticks, literally converting it into pink colour, including girls marrying him in dreams and some even committing suicides, when he married Dimple, sending him love letters with their blood, the craze and mass hysteria for Rajesh Khanna had never been witnessed ever before and after his sad demise.

Having worked as hero in over more than ninety films and in total, in about 185 movies Rajesh Khanna gave fifteen super duper hits, from 1969 to 1971 sending an outstanding wave of craze n hysteria among his fans nationally, from a nine year old child to a ninety year old man say his ine time co actress in several super hut films Sharmila Tagore.

Kaka indeed was a phenomena in Indian Film Industry who literally ruled it for several decades being the first ever highest paid superstar starting from Rs. Ten lakhs to seventy lakhs and even more during his career as a hero from seventies to nineties.

The king of outstanding histrionics impressing one and all by his superfluous extraordinary acting from serious classic films like Anand to humorous movie Bavarchi to emotional Avatar and earlier as superb romantic hero in super duper films during 1969 to 71 viz Aradhana, Kati Patang, Anand, Prem Nagar, Aap Ki Kasam, Roti, Safar, Andaaz, AAJ Ka MLA, Amar Prem and numerous other outstanding films, Rajesh Khanna aka Kaka, despite his being not with us physically today, still rules the hearts of million and millions of fans world over as a living legend as RAJESH KHANNA never die, he is immortal guiding and inspiring the budding artists and actors and entertaining infinite number of his fans across spectrum and across ages.

Originally born in a prosperous family in Pakistan, his father was a teacher but after their financial condition deteriorated due to partition, Kaka was adopted by his close relative Chunni Lal Khanna based in Mumbai, who was an affluent businessmen owning several cars.

Rajesh Khanna aka Kaka started his career as a theatre actor, against the wishes of his father and qualified the talent hunt competition in Mumbai coming first amongst ten thousand participants. He led a life of a son of affluent parents having imported sports car while going for rehearsals during his initial days as a theatre artist working with Anju Mahendru and Jitendra guiding them.

A first and original superstar Kaka despite leading a lavish life style throughout his life, had a bitter married life after he developed strained relationship with Dimple Kapadia, his loving wife whom he married just after the release of film Bobby, who was just 16 with Kaka 16 years older to her.

Leaving behind his actress wife Dimple, two daughters Twinkle and Rinki, both married and a super star son in law Akshay Kumar whom Kaka didn’t meet on his first untiring wait for several hours at his office during Akshay’s struggling days, Rajesh Khanna has his long cherished wish to make his most loving bungalow AASHIRVAAD as SUPERSTAR RAJESH KHANNA MUSEUM, but all in vain.

The last wish of the towering superstar was dashed to ground when it was demolished and razed by a builder Shetty after being sold at Rs NINETY CRORES by his family, the bungalow most loved by Kaka as his most loving prized possession.

The passing away of the legendary first n original superstar on whose last rites about nine lakh fans turned up to bade their last adieu to their most beloved superstar, in tears, not only from various parts of India but abroad as well, has indeed left us in immense grief and despair.

I being privileged to be his media advisor earlier when he was member of parliament from New Delhi associated with him from day one when he came to the national capital to contest as Congress candidate from New Delhi parliamentary constituency in 1991, pay my heartfelt tributes on his 78 th death anniversary, praying to Almighty to render peace to his soul. Rajesh Khanna is born once in centuries and is always immortal.

Vipin Oberoi organisor , n Kaka’s die hard fans in Delhi are commemorating his death anniversary as a mark of Reverence to the legendary super star on 18 July at The Treat, behind Jesus and Mary College, Chanakyapuri, where the legendary superstar used to visit occasionally and dine as well. His wife Dimple Kapadia Khanna also visited this vicinity number of times. When Kaka was alive he served free lunches to the poor n hapless on his birthday at this venue and had also inaugurated this delicious food cart The Treat, established about twenty one years ago. Kaka’s, statue has also been fixed at the venue of “The Treat” as a mark of respect to the first n only superstar if Bollywood.
