TICKETS OF ANIL BALUNI AND TRIVENDRA RAWAT FINALISED FROM PAURI GARHWAL AND HARIDWAR CONSTITUENCIES.
While the BJP’s second list is likely to be released, in Uttarakhand – it’s almost final that the tickets of two sitting MPs viz Tirath Singh Rawat from Pauri GARHWAL and Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank from Haridwar are being definitely cut with new candidates’ name almost final, with the list likely to be declared shortly. The new candidates from these two seats as speculated earlier, are Anil Baluni, former Rajya Sabha MP, BJP’s National media incharge and former Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat. The BJP tickets of three seats, repeating the sitting MPs viz Maharani Rajya Lakshmi from Tehri Garhwal, State minister defence and tourism Ajay Bhatt from Nainital – Udham Singh Nagar and Ajay Tamta , former state minister , from Almora have already been declared in the first list of 195 candidates.
The Haridwar MP Dr. Nishank has been sent to Uttar Pradesh for a three days tour and he has been to Kalki Dham to meet the expelled Congress leader Acharya Pramod his old friend, which clearly indicate that Haridwar MP has already been sounded about his ticket being cut.
On the other hand the former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat presented a bouquet to the incharge of Uttarakhand BJP – Dushyant Gautam, RS MP and general secretary , unambiguously indicating that his ticket from Haridwar has been finalised.
Similarly , the former Rajya Sabha MP and national incharge of BJP media Anil Baluni’s ticket has been finalised and he has released a visual song at his Delhi residence on “Modi ki guarantee” two days ago posting it in social media clearly indicating that he is taking due interest in Uttarakhand campaign. This visual song on “Modi Ki Guarantee”, has been sung in Garhwali language, obviously to be used during elections in Garhwal from where Anil Baluni would also be contesting. The BJP national general secretary , incharge Uttarakhand Dushyant Gautam was also invited by Anil Baluni during the release of this audio visual CD. Not only this but ensuring the defection of Congress leader, who had contested from Pauri Garhwal parliamentary constituency in 2019 n lost to BJP right at the nick of the time Manish Khanduri when national elections’ date is to be declared , clearly indicate that Anil Baluni , who is contesting from Garhwal constituency wants to add more and more Congress leaders to his side to ensure his victory. Manish Khanduri has secured 28% votes in 2019 elections as Congress candidate and now after his joinng BJP his services may be utilised by Anil Baluni in Pauri Lok Sabha elections.
According to sources the Congress leader Manish Khanduri who left Congress and joined BJP took this drastic measure after he was told by Mallikarjun Kharge regarding not being given ticket from Pauri Garhwal earlier when he had approached him with the request to consider him as Pauri Garhwal candidate. Moreover, he wasn’t accommodated in the AICC though Ganesh Godiyal was opted as invitee in CWC. Manish felt being deliberstely underrated by the Congress high cimmand.
Meanwhile, the Congress chief Karan Mahara has reportedly met the former leader of the opposition Pritam Singh at his house and requested him to contest from Tehri Garhwal against the sitting BJP MP Maharani Rajyalakhsmi. He had earlier rejected the party’s proposal to contest. Pritam Singh is a strong bet and has represented his Chakrata constituency 8 times. He had contested the 2019 election against the BJP candidate Maharani Rajya Lakshmi in 2019 but had lost as then was the strong Modi wave.
Similarly, Harish Rawat has also shown his disinterest to contest from Haridwar asking the ticket for his son Anand Singh Rawat , a former Uttarakhand Youth Congress chief.
From Pauri Garhwal four names have been sent by the screening committee to CEC viz Ram Rattan Singh Negi ( Retired Colonel) Prem Bahukhandi, Ganesh Godiyal, Jyoti Rautela and Dhirendra Pratap.
