THREE TIMES DELHI CHAMPIONS GARHWAL HEROES SCORE 4/0 AGAINST DARJEELING WINNING THE FINALS AT PAURI, GARHWAL .

A prominent Soccer team of the national capital having been the three times champion bringing laurels for Garhwal and Uttarakhand and also helping in giving employment to several players in the central and state government departments including private enterprises – GARHWAL HEROES FOOTBALL CLUB has today defeated the Kanchanjunga, Darjeeling in the final national tournament held at Raansi Ground, Pauri, Pauri Garhwal once again making the inhabitants of Garhwal and Uttarakhand proud in their own heartland.

It was indeed a jubilant occasion for the entire dedicated players of Garhwal Heroes founded in 1953, including the main inspiring force behind the team Mr. Patwal, senior Coach and veteran footballer who was with the team to boost their morale including the audience who had thronged the stadium in large numbers.

It may be recalled that highly spirited and on a winning knack determined and dedicated – the Garhwal Heroes football club team reached the finals after defeating the Income Tax football team, Delhi on Saturday and simultaneously the Kanchanga Darjeeling defeating Pauri United.

Today’s being the final match in the national football competition, the stadium was jampacked with hundreds of soccer lovers from Pauri Township and the surrounding villages with large attendance of youths, students and even senior citizens cheering and encouraging the soccer teams vociferously.

In the Saturday semifinal the entire credit for Garhwal Heroes victory against Income Tax Delhi goes to Mohit Mittal whose single goal led the team to reach the finals.

On the other hand in the match between the Pauri United and Kanchanjunga Darjeeling, Abhishek Dorji and Anish Rai scored goals for their team Darjeeling enabling it reach the finals as Garhwal heroes competitor in the finals.

The morale of Garhwal Heroes Soccer team by scoring four goals against the zero of Kanchanjunga, Darjeeling touched sky with the audience in the jampacked stadium cheering the winners to the hilt.

Neeraj Bhandari of Garhwal Heroes scored the first goal against Kanchanganga, Darjeeling in just 12 minutes after the final started, while the second goal was scored by Rohan giving Heroes a clear cut edge over the rival team.

While, the demoralised team of Darjeeling despite trying their best could do nothing to equalise, another energetic player of GH Neeraj scored the third goal after an hour giving Heroes the lead of 3/0 making it absolutely clear that their victory is certain.

This is how, finally Garhwal Heroes were the champions making the final score against their rival team as 4/0.

What is pertinent here to mention is that Pradeep Rawat, Milan Kshetri and Deepak Rawat played a fantastic match finally leading the Garhwal Heroes to a dashing victory.

The chairman of Pauri Garhwal Municipality and former MLA Yashpal Benam congratulated both the teams and presented the winning trophy to the winners – Garhwal Heroes including the consolation prize to runners up Kanchanjunga, Darjeeling.
