There will be three Dronacharyas in the Rana family

It is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand that two father-son from the same family of Chilamu village of Nainbag have already been awarded the Dronacharya Award, while the youngest son Subhash Rana will be awarded the Dronacharya Award on January 17 by the Sports Ministry of the Government of India.

This award includes a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh and a citation.

Former Sports Minister of Uttarakhand Government Narayan Singh Rana was awarded the ‘Dronacharya Award’ by the Uttarakhand Government in 2015 for his role as the chief coach in the field of shooting.

His eldest son, Golden Boy shooter Jaspal Rana, has shown sporting talent in the world and trained many players.

For this achievement, he was awarded the Dronacharya Award in 2020 by the Sports Ministry of the Government of India.

Narayan Singh Rana’s second son Subhash Rana, who was also the coach of India’s para shooting team, will be honoured with the Dronacharya Award by the Sports Ministry of the Government of India on 17 January.

In India, the Dronacharya Award is given to the best coach in the field of sports. This award is given to a guru who not only acts as a guide but also prepares a talented player to reach the Commonwealth and Olympics.
