The main culprit, reportedly a Bangladesh national who stabbed Saif caught by Mumbai police
The main culprit in the Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan stabbing case has been nabbed by the Mumbai Crime Branch police.
The name of the culprit is Mohammed Shariful Islam Shehzad reportedly from Bangladesh who according to the police has come to Mumbai seven months ago though the counsel of the culprit has countered the police statement denying so – saying they are telling lies as Shehzad had been living in Mumbai since the last seven years.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police Mumbai Zine 9 Gedaam Dikshit the age of the culprit is thirty years and he has burgled in the 11 th floor house of Saif Ali Khan with the pure intent of committing theft and was not aware that the Bollywood star is living here. He doubted that he has come from Bangladesh but didn’t elaborated on the reason of his committing burglary at the actor’s house.
According to the culprit he didn’t knew that the house he was committing robbery in, belonged to Saif Ali Khan , a prominent actor.
When he saw the actor he just retaliated physically and stabbed him not having any previous plan to do so.
His motive was purely to commit the theft said the culprit to the police.
The police during its hectic investigations had nabbed five suspected persons whose faces were resembling to the person seen in the CCTV footage going up and coming down after committing the burglary and stabbing the actor six times.
A person name Akash was also nabbed in Durg in a train’s general compartment yesterday and the crime branch had been to Durg, Chhattisgarh to take his custody.
The two teams of thirty five personnel of Mumbai Crime Branch and local police were formed to nab the culprit. Over sixty persons were interrogated in connection with this case which include the staff of Saif Ali Khan, his relatives, the local building staff, guards and those supplying items to his house etc.
