The Indian National Congress expresses grave concern at the unilateral actions taken by the United States of America in Venezuela over the past 48 hours, which transgress the settled principles of international law, as enshrined in the United Nations Charter and numerous international treaties.

In a statement issued by the INC foreign affairs department : Respect for national sovereignty and peaceful coexistence have formed the bedrock of the post World War-II rules-based world order. Any kinetic action that circumscribe these without the express sanction of the United Nations risk the resurgence of primordial rules of statecraft and undermine global stability. The Indian National Congress urges that the will of the Venezuelan people be given utmost priority and that Venezuelan resources are utilised for the betterment of the Venezuelan people, as guaranteed by the principles of Permanent Sovereignty over Natural Resources.

According to the latest news reports after forcibly arresting in handcuffs showing him in a sorry state of affairs Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from his home, US President Donald Trump has now plans to conquer few countries as well and has started releasing a list of the same i.e. the governments he wants to conquer and overthrow. Such lists includes a region considered friendly to the US. After Venezuela, a region in Europe is next on this list. Previously, Cuba, Colombia, and Iran were considered Trump’s next targets. But Trump’s new announcement has shocked his European allies. Now, Trump wants to seize Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, a country believed to be a US ally. Denmark looks after the Greenland’s security and law and order.
