The majority of the politicians in the eyes of the public are not at all transparent, carrying the image of integrity or transparency in their pursuits to public service.
There is usually a whispering campaign against the elected representatives about their allegedly being in league with the engineers and contractors allegedly sharing a part of their funds allocated for developmental purposes.
Though, despite several surveys done and reports published in the past there have been umpteen instances of such misuse of the funds of elected representatives and it is an open secret but can’t be challenged as a saying goes that ” HAMAAM MEIN SAB NANGE HAIN”.
These days according to a post in social media – with a photograph of a board of Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal lawmaker is tremendously going viral with thousands of views and likes etc.
This refers to a signboard of Kotdwar MLA Ritu Khanduri which mentions about the works executed worth Rs. 9.95 lakhs in her constituency, obviously from her MLA fund.
According to the signboard in Hindi it is categorically mentioned that in order to execute the beautification, painting ( whitewash etc) of four rooms of the Rajkeeya Intercollege Rs. 9.95 have been spent which is obviously the MLA fund of the Kotdwar lawmaker.
This huge fund being spent on just the painting/ whitewash or renovation of four rooms of an Intermediate college is being ridiculed / criticized in social media terming it as utter wastage and misuse of the government money.
Now after the said post going viral in social media the onus obviously lies on the common public/ electorates if Kotdwar to decide whether this is true or absolutely untrue. Whether they agree or not with the said post going viral in social media.
The ball is in the court of the people of Kotdwar and elsewhere who are ultimately the decider if the fate their respective representatives whom they elect with the optimism to maintain absolute integrity is really coming true to the expectation of their electorates who voted for them en masse or not. Till then fingers crossed !
