Team India Shines at IKMF World Championship 2025 (Part-2) in Hungary Women-Dominated Indian Squad Creates History with 25 Medals

Team India delivered a historic performance at the IKMF International Kettlebell Marathon World Championship 2025 (Part-2) held in Szeged, Hungary, from November 28 to 30, bringing immense pride to the nation. Competing against over 200 athletes from 22 countries, the 15-member Indian contingent showcased exceptional strength, endurance, and determination, winning an impressive 25 medals.
A defining highlight of India’s participation was the women-dominated team composition, with 9 women athletes in the squad—marking a significant milestone for Indian strength sports and women’s empowerment on the global stage.

The Indian team was led by Coach and Team Representative Vinay Sangwan, whose strategic guidance played a pivotal role in the team’s success.

Sangwan also excelled individually adding another golden chapter to Indian kettlebell history.

Pallavi Sangwan became the first Indian athlete to win four medals at a single IKMF World Championship, securing two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal—an unprecedented achievement.

Another athelete Dipnita Das won a gold medal and became the first Indian woman to earn the Master of Sport title.

Premchand and Vikram Kainur Rajendran achieved the prestigious Master of Sport (World Class) title.

Rahul Yenduya secured a silver medal.
Yogeshwar Sharma and Yashvi Sharma (father-daughter duo) won two gold and one silver medal, exemplifying excellence across generations.

Arun Kumar claimed two gold medals and earned the Candidate for Master of Sport title.

Ekanki Seth won a silver medal and achieved Candidate for Master of Sport rank.
Priyanka Lahari secured one silver and one bronze medal.

Ishani Patel, Anushka, and Vicky won silver medals in their respective events.

Though individual achievements stood out, the success was truly collective, with all 15 athletes contributing to India’s remarkable medal tally—highlighting the depth and rising global competitiveness of Indian kettlebell sport.

All medal-winning athletes were felicitated by former Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Dr. Yoganand Shastri, who congratulated the team for elevating India’s prestige on foreign soil.

Coach Vinay Sangwan and Sudesh Sangwan announced that, considering the growing popularity of kettlebell sports—especially among Indian youth—the Kettlebell Marathon Championship 2026 is planned to be held in Rohtak, Haryana. Discussions are underway
with the government and sports authorities regarding the event.

Team India’s extraordinary performance at the IKMF World Championship 2025 marks a historic turning point for Indian kettlebell sports, particularly for women athletes, and firmly establishes India’s rising presence on the global strength sports platform.
