Tragic accident on Delchaownree Road: Eco car falls into ditch, one woman dead, four injured

A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday on Dehalchaownree Road, just beyond Srinagar, Garhwal. Five people returning from a wedding ceremony were killed when their Eco car lost control and fell into a deep ditch. One woman died on the spot, while four others were injured.

According to reports, the four men, residents of Ratuda near Rudraprayag district, were returning from a wedding ceremony in Bhenta village, Kot block. As their vehicle approached Arkani Band, about 800 meters from Belkandi village on Dehalchauri Road, the Eco car plunged into a 60-meter-deep ravine.

Upon receiving the information, police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and launched a rescue operation.

All the injured were pulled from the ditch and sent for treatment. A seriously injured woman was immediately taken to the hospital by a police officer in his vehicle, while the other injured were taken to the hospital by 108 ambulance.

The death of a woman in the accident has caused an uproar in the area. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
