Swamy Darshan Bharti’s effigy burnt at Lansdowne Chowk

Hundreds of volunteers of a social organisation Suraj Sewa Dal has burnt an effigy of a self styled saint of Dehradun, Uttarakhand namely Swamy Darshan Bharti accusing him as the agent of the government and weakening the case of Ankita Bhandari by bringing Urmila Sanawar from Chandigarh to Dehradun and then handing her over to the police, the SIT now under Police custody , though yesterday after attending the probe Urmila lauded the cooperation of the police and good behaviour.
The protestdemonstration and effigy burning took place at Lansdowne chowk amid slogans criticizing the BJP government and Swami Darshan Bharti.
The protesting Suraj Sewa Dal activists after burning the effigy of Swami Darshan Bharti said that now they doubt whether he is really a saint, now we will have to enquire about his status and the antecedents.
They were furious saying that how could he first bring Urmila to Dehradun and then hand her over to the police who is immensely disturbed and shaken by his alleged behaviour.
They said that as a saint he has no role to play and intervene in the investigation as this is purely a matter between her and the police.
They asked who is Darshan Bharti to act as an intermediary and a broker of the government.
The protestors said that by involving him the case of Ankita Bhandari and alleged VIP is being weakened.
They clearly said that intervention of Darshan Bharti in this episode is purely to weaken the case, grant leverage to the alleged VIP and favour the ruling political dispensation in order to come into the good books of the government.
It may be recalled that Swami Darshan Bharti also had a personal meeting with the NSA while he was in Delhi and also delivered prasad and spiritual artefacts brought from Lord Badrinath temple including pious Ganga Jal.
The matter of Ankita Bhandari and demand for CBI is gaining tremendous momentum in the state with people not relenting and organising protest demonstrations and candle marches in various parts of the state including in the national capital territory.
On 11th January the biggest social organisation of the inhabitants of Garhwal living in Delhi Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha is organising a massive candle march at Chandra Singh Garhwali chowk in favour of CBI probe in Ankita Bhandari case.
