Supreme Court constitutes a 6 member expert committee to look into Adani Hindenburg issue led by a former SC Judge
The Adani – Hindenburg issue is again in the lime light. The Supreme Court of India has today constituted a six member important expert committee that will monitor and look into the Adani Hindenburg crisis including taking stock of the stock market’s regulatory mechanism in view of the massive degeneration of shares of Adani group leading to tremendous loss in stock market. The expert committee constituted by the Supreme Court of India led by the chief justice D. Y. Chandrachud consists of O. P. Bhatt, Justice JP Devdhar, Nandan Nilakeni, K. V. Kamath and Somashekhran Sundareshan. The retired Supreme Court Justice A. M. Spare will head this important committee. Former apex court Justice Abhay Mohan Sapre had practised on Civil, Constitutional and labour cases in MP high court becoming permanent judge in 2001 . He had served as the first chief justice of Manipur and Gauhati High Court in 2013 and was promoted as the judge of Supreme Court in 2014, retiring in August 2019. The hon’ble supreme Court has also directed the regulatory body SEBI to adequately examine the charges of manipulations and maneuverability levelled against the Adani group for which the time of two months was given. Meanwhile in a tweet the Adani group welcomed the decision of supreme Court to set up a six member committee. The chief of Adani group Gautam Adani tweeted : The Adani Group welcomes the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. It will bring finality in a time bound manner. Truth will prevail tweeted Mr. Adani.
