Sulochana sought votes for a corruption free and encroachment free Doon. Claims support from many organizations
Sulochana Ishtwal, candidate for the post of Deputy Commissioner from Dehradun Municipal Corporation, along with her supporters, conducted public relations campaign in various wards and sought votes by holding public meetings.
Sulochana Ishtwal said that the previous Municipal Board was quite famous for the fake Safai Karmacharis worth crores of rupees employed by the councillors. Apart from this, many allegations were also made against the Mayor for having assets disproportionate to his income and taking personal benefits by misusing his position. Now the public has a chance to replace all the councillors and Mayor who are famous for scams.
Describing the tenure of mayors from the last 15 years as disappointing, Sulochana Ishtwal said that instead of making Dehradun a clean and safe city, it has been turned into a slum city by handing it over to illegal encroachers.
Sulochana said that the mayors till now are directly responsible for the encroachment of government land of the corporation. Candidate Sulochana Ishtawal, supported by Urja, an organization formed by various regional parties, said that if the public wants change, then they should put their stamp on the fan election symbol for the post of mayor.
Sulochana Ishtwal said that if she gets a chance then she has a complete vision and a definite plan to make the entire Dehradun a drug-free, clean, green and safe city.
During the padyatra and public meeting, a lot of enthusiasm was seen among women and ex-servicemen with Sulochana Ishtwal.
Sulochana Ishtwal said that the unemployed youth of Uttarakhand as well as all the youth who are being exploited in outsourcing are also supporting her on one hand.
Sulochana Ishtwal claimed that for the first time this time ex-soldier Gaurav Sainik is supporting her and being from a freedom fighter family and continuing with the struggle, she has the support of the freedom fighter organisation too.
