Important arrest made by UP crime branch after 12 hours of interrogation
The son of the union state minister of home Ajay Mishra has been arrested by the crime branch after several hours of his interrogation in connection with the murder of four farmers in Lakhimpur. Three BJP workers including a driver has also been killed in Lakhimpur Kheeri in the day when the farmers who were coming back from the rally n protesting showing black flags, were allegedly mowed down by a car owned by the son of the minister Ajay Mishra Teni.
According to latest tweet of ANI, the state home minister’s son was arrested by the UP crime branch after 12 hours of interrogation. The tweet read : Ashish Mishra, son of MOS Home Ajay Mishra Teni, has been arrested as he was not cooperating during the interrogation and didn’t answer few questions. He will be produced before the court : DIG Upendra Agarwal, Saharanpur, revealed ANI,UP tweet.
Kindly recall that the supreme Court had intervened and directed the law enforcing agencies to bring the culprits to book at the earliest reprimanding the UP govt n various agencies.
This morning several youth Congress workers led by its national president Sriniwas BV had protested in Delhi and had courted arrests demanding arrest of the culprits involved in the Lakhimpur Khiri tragedy and resignation of the state minister apprehending his alleged intervention in the ongoing investigations. According to the sources of SKM the farmers will organise Mahapanchayats and participate in Rail Roko and March to Lakhimpur Khiri and Lucknow on October 18 and October 26 to protest against the farmers killings and burning of effigies of BJP senior leaders. There had been tremendous pressure on the central government as well as the Uttar Pradesh CM n police by various opposition parties including Congress with Priyanka Gandhi being arrested in Sitapur and TMC leaders n MP, Samajwadi Party leader n former CM Akhilesh Yadav too arrested and leaders of all political parties condemning this incident in strongest possible terms and protest demonstration taking place in various parts of the country. The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, TMC leaders, Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, former Punjab Congress chief Navjyot Singh Sidhu, former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat etc have reached Lakhimpur Khiri and had earlier courted arrests in their respective states in protest against farmers lynching and to express solidarity with their cause. They have met the bereaved families and assured them to get them full justice by bringing the culprits to book at the earliest. The Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath had also assured for giving due justice to the farmers. Meanwhile the Uttar Pradesh spokesman of BJP Gaurav Bhatia has said that due justice will be given to the victim’s family and nobody will be spared. The Congress party and it’s leadership Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi are demanding the dismissal of the union state home minister Ajay Mishra Teni apprehensive that he being the state minister may influence the ongoing probe. Meanwhile the Uttar Pradesh government has distributed the cheques of Rs 45 lakhs to the traumatic families of the deceased farmers and had assured of giving a government job to the next of the kin. Rs ten lakhs have been announced for those injured in Lakhimpur tragedy. It may be recalled that while four farmers have been killed in Lakhimpur incident three BJP workers and a journalist have also been killed in retaliation. The probe is on and the crime branch has arrested the minister’s son after grilling him for 12 hours who tried to skip the interrogation earlier on one pretext or other say the news reports.
