State defence minister faces the ire of infuriated Betalghat residents for water shortage
Politicians do face protests by their political rivals and infuriated electorates. These are common happenings. But when a union minister confronts such protests from his own partymen or protagonists with workers not even feeling reluctant or caring for the prestige and honour of their central minister representative than one definitely comes to the conclusion that all is not well for the party the union minister represents.
Here the incident pertains to Betalghat where the Union Minister of state for tourism and defence Ajay Bhatt who defeated Congress heavy weight Harish Rawat with highest margin of votes from Nainital and is considered close to PM Narendra Modi had to confront heated criticism by the residents for not hearing to their woes for the last four n a half months to rectify the water shortage problems, thus facing the heated arguments and ire of the badly infuriated residents.
The angered n infuriated residents insulted the minister in front of his followers and he was not able to respond except saying that you know being a public representative I have been busy during the last four days in the ongoing natural calamity related relief works.
The infuriated residents said that if the woes n grievances of the BJP workers are not being heard and attended too then what about other aggrieved people.
The Betalghat residents who are suffering from lack of drinking water were repeatedly arguing and putting forth their grievances blaming the local MLA and the minister Ajay Bhatt who had no option but to stay calm and say that he will come the next day to discuss the issue in detail n resolve it forthwith but the residents not relenting. One of the angered resident said I can also sit on the stage and address the people as u do meaning that there is no difference between him and us but u being our representative should address our grievances said the annoyed resident.
The residents said that all their requests for the last four months went into the deaf ears of the authorities with no solution in sight despite their repeated pleas. The BJP is busy in its populist slogans and taking advantage but people’s grievances are hardly being attended said the infuriated residents with one of them claiming to be the saffron party supporter.
