Spread eyelids for Akshay Kumar, why Urmi Negi neglected, writes a senior journalist of Uttarakhand ?

Uttarakhand Government should not have double standards
- Spread eyelids for Akshay Kumar, why Urmi Negi neglected?
- Watched Kerala story for votes, Why didn’t you see in Bathoun, Subero Gham-2, the agony of the mountain.
Film actor Akshay Kumar returned to Mumbai after shooting for his film in Uttarakhand for 11 days. He is a great artist, undoubtedly. He has all the qualities whether you cut the mango and eat it or suck it. Marketing comes into consideration. Selling myself as well as selling the film. The state government was dying for Akshay. As if Akshay runs the entire government. Whereas in comparison, Garhwali filmmaker and actor Urmi Negi also gave a new identity to Uttarakhand with her film Bathoun, Subheiro Gham ( 2). Raised the burning issues of the mountain and also gave oxygen to the artists of Garhwali cinema who were dying here. Bathoun-Subero Gham – 2 is working as a ventilator for Garhwali cinema. Despite this, the apathy of the government is visible.
Chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami and his family went to watch The Kerala Story. There he found the film based on a true story. But Urmi Negi’s Bathoun – Subhero Gham which evokes the plight of mountain’s exodus and pain, he remains silent on that film. Two words did not come out of his mouth for the film. What would have gone wrong if we had seen this film too? It would have come to know how useless the BJP government is in the matter of populating the mountains. Former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat uncle came to see the film. However, his supporters were trying to see this film for free, but couldn’t succeed.
Urmi Negi is the daughter of Negi “Pahad”. At the age of 16, she went to Mayanagari, Bollywood, Mumbai. And he has given the last four decades of her life to Hindi and Garhwali cinema. She has kept Garhwali cinema alive and also the artists in Uttarakhand.
If CM Dhami wanted, he could have promoted this film of Urmi Negi. But they are worried about votes, not the mountain. Hills are of no use. They only see Hindu religion in danger, not the mountain. For them, five kilos of free ration is a big achievement and the alleged hoarding of crores by ministers and leaders is nothing.
If you want to destroy a community, kill its culture. This is what is happening in Uttarakhand today. Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari dialects are in danger. The shade of folk culture is not visible in the mountain. Culture conservation work is being done in Dehradun-Haldwani fora only. In such a situation, if Urmi Negi is trying to carve out the pain of the mountain. If it is trying to save its culture and art, then why is the government hesitating to support it?
This is beyond my understanding. Government should make Subero Gham tax free and also promote this film so that regional cinema can get new life.
Well said, we have to support regional cinema.
