After distributing one thousand bicycles to girl students of Moga, free of cost in order to help them commute to their schools by renowned Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, his sister active in politics and an aspirant for ticket in the ensuing election from Miga, Punjab, running an English coaching centre as well, Malvika Sood has today joined the Congress party in the presence of the Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and cricketer turned politician, Punjab Congress chief Navjyot Singh Sidhu.
The samaritan Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, Malvika’s elder brother was also present at her house when she joined Congress party.
What is interesting about this joining is the fact that the Punjab CM Charanjeet Singh Channi and celebrity cricketer n politician though controversial, Navjyot Singh Sidhu personally came to the residence of Malvika Sood and filled the form of her Congress membership, which indeed seems to be warm gesture and an initiative to exploit the popularity of Malvika’s brother Sonu Sood who had been so helpful at the pan India level during the Covid pandemic challenging times and even now, always helping the poor and coming to the rescue of the hapless as and when asked for.
Sonu Sood popularly symbolised as a true Samaritan than an actor, is in Punjab these days to help his sister.
Just a few days before he along with his sister distributed around one thousand cycles to the students of 40 to 45 schools near Moga, Punjab.
He said that the basic purpose to distribute 1000 bicycles to village girl students was to encourage them go to their schools daily and in time being far away from their respective residences.
The sister of Sonu Sood has already declared her claim to contest from Moga legislative constituency. Now, it is obvious that she would be the Congress candidate after joining the 125 year old party said sources.
At the time of joining, the actor wasn’t on the dias avoiding himself being associated with any political party.
Expressing his immense jubilation over Malvika Sood’s joining the Congress party, Punjab Punjab Congress chief Navjyot Singh Sidhu said that her entry in Congress will be a game changer for the entire party in Punjab. She is a highly qualified girl and deserves victory by all means. It has never happened that a chief minister and the state chief have come to anyone’s house to welcome an individual in a party said Sidhu. She is definitely an outstanding, highly educated woman said Sidhu who will be game changer in Moga n in several Congress said said Sidhu.
Admiring Sonu Sood and his outstanding contribution to the help the poor, needy, hapless and those hailing from the lowest ebb, Punjab Congress president Sidhu said that he is not only popular in India but in the world also, for his noble acts.
Kindly recall that last month in Chandigarh Sonu Sood had met the CM Channi and had also addressed a press conference revealing about her 38 year old sister Malvika contesting from Moga.
There were rumours of Sonu Sood and his sister joining Congress but they were turned down then. There were earlier rumours of her sister joining AAP as Sonu Sood had met Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi several months ago and was appointed as an ambassador to encourage students of Delhi government’s educational programme.
However, finally Malvika Sood joined Congress today, admiring Punjab CM Charanan Jeet Singh Channi for the outstanding works done by him and the people of Punjab lauding his efforts and initiatives.
She said the recent decisions of CM are being lauded by one and all expressing her desire and commitment to strengthen the oldest party Congress n appealing to those present on the ocassion. Sonu’s, father ran a Mumbai Cloth House at Moga while his mother was a lecturer in a college.
Sonu Sood has not joined any political party but had announced that if he is invited by any state government in connection with any work pertaining to the students’ welfare he will be there by the next flight. In Punjab, the elections will be held on 14 th February in one phase along with Uttarakhand and Goa.
