Sonia Gandhi leaves ED after three hours of grilling, 65 MPs arrested while protesting !

The Congress president Sonia Gandhi who attended the ED office questioning after being summoned left the enforcement directorate office after three hours of intense questioning. It is not clear whether she will be called again or not but sources say that for now she will not be called as she had allegedly answered 30 to 40 questions pertaining to a money laundering National Herald case. Congress’s interim president Sonia Gandhi had gone to ED office at 11 AM with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She stayed there for three hours and left the office today noon after answering all the necessary questions of the ED. Meanwhile, there have been series of protests today as well with more than sixty MPs marching towards Vijay Chowk from parliament street arrested as per the tweet of Congress MP Manickam Tagore. Posting a video Manickam tweeted : We were protesting… Now Delhi Police arrested all 65 MPs taking them to undisclosed destination.

Rajasthan MLA and former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot too was detained while protesting against the interrogation of Congress president Sonia Gandhi terming the action as arbitrary. While arrested Pilot said that brute force is being used and several party workers have been injured. The injured NSUI president Neeraj Kundan and several party workers was seen with blood stains on their clothes with the vociferous Youth Congress chief Sriniwas BV also detained along with other Congress activists. The Mahila Congress and Congress Sewa Dal workers too held a vociferous march cum demonstration holding a huge banner condemning the ED questioning of Sonia Gandhi outside party headquarter. The Congress tweet with the picture of Congress MPs protesting wrote : As an opposition, it is our duty to raise the issues that concern people. No matter, what this government throws in our way, we won’t seize.

In another tweet the Congress MP Manickam with the photo of MPs arrested going in a bus tweeted : This is a fourth bus in which MPs are taken to Kingsway Camp police station. These suspended MPs were marching in protest to Vijay Chowk from Parliament House against their president’s arbitrary interrogation by the ED. Meanwhile, the leader of Congress in Lok Sabha said that our 75 year old leader is being harrassed. We will not tolerate this. Our president is not keeping good health yet she is being summoned by ED again and again. This is an exercise to demoralise the Congress workers but we won’t be demoralised cone what may said Mallikarjun Kharge. Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has termed this as a tamasha saying that first Rahul Gandhi was summoned and questioned for five days now they are grilling Sonia Gandhi for the third consecutive day despite the fact that the case is in supreme court. He accused the BJP for misusing the ED as tools to bring down Congress governments.
