SOCIAL ACTIVISTS SUBMIT THEIR WRITTEN REQUEST TO LORD “GOLJYU” URGING JUSTICE FOR LATE ANKITA BHANDARI AND NIRBHAYA OF NAJAFGARH
While the three review petitions filed in supreme Court against its earlier judgement acquitting all the three convicts on patchy investigations by Delhi Police having been accepted and its first hearing today, certain social activists and Jago Uttarakhand led by journalist and social activist Ashutosh Negi and colleagues have submitted their written request to the renowned deity of Almora, Kumaon Uttarakhand Goljyu Devta at His temple in Chitai, Almora the other day. The request to the deity was made in connection with the brutal murder of late Ankita Bhandari and obnoxious gang rape of the Nirbhaya of Nazafgarh appealing for giving the culprits ( human beasts) strictest of the punishment. Kindly recall that the three culprits of Nirbhaya of Najafgarh were acquitted in the month of November, 22 sending resentment all over with candle marches and protest demonstrations taking place . In addition to this, a Nyay Yatra that started from the residence of late Kiran Negi from Qutub Vihar, Chawla, Delhi led by the deceased victim’s father Kunwar Singh Negi on 19 th February via a bus has also covered several areas of Garhwal and Kumaon highlighting the plight of the aggrieved families of both late Ankita Bhandari and late Kiran Negi on the way and concluded at Goljyu Temple submitting their written request to the renowned deity to bring the culprits of both these horrendous murderers to justice at the earliest. Goljyu Devta is a renowned deity of Uttarakhand having its temple in Almora where the devotees throng in large numbers praying and submitting their applications secretly writing their demands on it urging the God to fulfil them since ages.
