Six leaders of BJP including three former MLAs join Congress in Delhi

The Uttarakhand Assembly elections are due in 2027 just a few months ahead and both the ruling BJP and Congress have tightened their belts to race ahead of each other.

While this being the second term for BJP and the anti incumbency at its peak the Congress party in Uttarakhand today was definitely feeling good as three former MLAs and three other senior leaders of BJP have joined CONGRESS in Delhi in the presence of the national leaders, Uttarakhand incharge and former minister Kumari Shelja and Mr. Gurdeep Sappal including the Uttarakhand Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal, leader of the opposition Yashpal Arya, Dr. Harak Singh, former State chief Karan Mahara and Pritam Singh etc. At a well arranged function at 24 Akbar Road the senior BJP leaders and former MLAs who joined CONGRESS today in the presence of the aforesaid leaders were : The former MLAs Rajkumar Thukral, Narayan Pal, and Bhimlal Arya, while the other three were Gaurav Goyal, Lakhan Singh, and Anuj Gupta. NARAYAN KAL , ex MLA from Sitarganj was in Congress but had lateron joined BSP and was currently independent. Welcoming these leaders in the Congress party with enthusiasm and jubilation Kumari Shelja said that these leaders have expressed their complete faith and trust on the leadership Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Party chief and Leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi. Addressing the press conference Shelja said that people are rapidly losing faith in the BJP and are joing Congress party having tremendous faith on its valued, principles and ideology. She said that the people of state are completely disenchanted with the ruling party on all fronts and are looking towards Congress with immense optimism. Criticizing the BJP for increasing corruption in the state she said that all the efforts of the centre to polish the image of Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has failed as the people of the state have learnt lessons and the saffron party government is fully exposed due to its misdeeds. She expressed her optimism that the Congress party will return to power with a massive mandate and serve the people of the state with immense dedication and commitment.
The induction of the six leaders took place at the party headquarter in the presence of
Uttarakhand Congress leaders, including Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal, Leader of the Opposition Yashpal Arya, election campaign committee chairman Pritam Singh, election management committee head Harak Singh Rawat, and former PCC president Karan Mahara etc were present on this ocassion.
