Should accept his mistake or tender apology for joining Congress says Harish Rawat before welcoming Dr. H. S. Rawat to the party

The former Uttarakhand CM and chairman of the election campaign committee of Uttarakhand Congress Harish Rawat today said that expelled BJP leader Dr. Harak Singh Rawat is welcome in Congress provided he apologises accepting his mistake for joining the BJP in 2016.

Speaking to media Harish Rawat said that Dr. Rawat should accept his mistake for joining BJP while returning back to his parent party. In a tweet of ANI Harish Rawat said : I don’t want to make any statement on this. Expelled Uttarakhand BJP Minister Harak Singh has not joined the Congress party yet. Party will take a decision after considering several angles said firmer

It may be recalled that in the recent past when there were news about Dr. Harak Singh Rawat and some other Congress leaders likely to join Congress from BJP, veteran Congress leader Rawat had accused the defectors as murderers of democracy, having left Congress party in lurch, destabilising his government with the intention of becoming chief minister n minister but after failing to become anything they are now trying to join Congress.

His reference was primarily for the senior Congress leaders like Satpal Maharaj n Vijay Bahuguna including Dr. Harak Singh Rawat.

Meanwhile, speaking to media Dr. Harak Singh Rawat had catagorically said that he has only one option to join Congress party.

If he will join any party it will be only Congress he said. He will work hard to ensure the defeat of Bhartiya Janata Party even if he remains out of the Congress. He said he will join Congress without any pre condition and his only aim would be to see BJP being defeated at all costs.

Kindly recall that Dr Harak Singh Rawat had defected to BJP in 2016 along with 9 Congress MLA playing a pivotal role. He had then even assured the Union home minister Amit Shah not to leave the party ever.

Meanwhile, according to the latest news the disenchanted MLA who had joined BJP along with Congress leaders in 2016 and accompanied Dr. Rawat to Delhi has said that he will remain in BJP having no plans to join Congress. There were reports that Dr. Harak Singh Rawat had met Randeep Singh Surjewala expressing his desire to join Congress after being expelled from BJP’s primary membership fir seven years.

While in BJP he was demanding three tickets one for him, from Kedarnath, shifting from Kotdwar, another for his daughter in law Anukriti Gusain from Lansdowne n for his wife. He was at loggerheads with the Uttarakhand CM n the former CM as well.

Finally he was removed from the cabinet and expelled for anti party activities by the present CM Pushkar Singh Dhami when he had headed for Delhi to meet union minister Amit Shah and party chief J. P. Nadda. Dr. Rawat annoyed the senior party leaders on Sunday for not attending the core committee meeting at Dehradun.
