One such brave heart of Garhwal Rifles Mandip Singh Negi today sacrificed his life in the service of the nation. Belonging to Garhwal Rifles’ 11 th Battalion originally from Sakloni village Chowbattakhal, under the jurisdiction of Pokhra Block in Pauri Garhwal district merely 25 year old young valiant fighter Mandeep Singh Negi was martyred at Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir while performing his duty.

This supreme sacrifice of rifleman, 11 Garhwal Rifles Mandeep Singh Negi has send shock waves across Uttarakhand.

The Uttarakhand chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat has in his condolense message tweeted : My tearful heartfelt tributes to 25 years old Rifleman Mandeep Singh Negi of Satpuli, Pauri Garhwal who sacrificed himself at Gulmarg while performing his duty in the service of the nation. His sacrifice will always inspire the young generation to join Indian army in the service of the nation tweeted CM Rawat.

The former chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat while paying his tributes to martyred young soldier said he is proud of the supreme sacrifice of Rifleman Mandeep Singh in the service of the nation but added that he is disturbed to learn that we’ve lost a braveheart daredevil at such a young age. May the Almighty render peace to the departed soul. We will always stand with the grief stricken families of the martyred soldiers said Trivendra Singh Rawat.
