A grand honor ceremony and mushaira were held in New Delhi at the India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC) on Lodi Road. On this occasion, Kunwar Shekhar Vijender, Co-Founder and Chancellor of Shobhit University, announced that the university would confer the title of” Honorary Professor” upon renowned international poet, educator, journalist, and social worker Shri Afzal Manglori.
Kunwar Shekhar Vijender stated that this honor is being bestowed upon Manglori in recognition of his remarkable and multifaceted contributions to literature, education, journalism, and social service over the past 45 years. Speaking as the president of the ceremony, Kunwar Shekhar Vijender described Afzal Manglori as not only an outstanding poet but also a living example of thought, sensitivity, and social responsibility. He emphasized that Manglori’s writings reflect the truth of the earth and the voice of the soul.
He said ,The formal ceremony for conferring this honor will be held at Shobhit University’s upcoming special program, with the date to be announced soon.
The ceremony, “Takrim-e-Afzal Manglori,” was organized by Qalam Sadhna Foundation to honor Manglori with the “Uttarakhand Ratna” award. The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Justice Rajesh Tandon, Additional Commissioner of Delhi Police Adesh Tyagi, Additional District Judge Meena Khan, former Minister and National President of Sarv Samaj Mahasangh Dr. Ramkumar Walia, MP Imran Masood, MLA Qazi Nizamuddin, former Chancellor of MAOU Hydrabad sri firoz bakht Ahamad, film Actress indrani Pandhi and others.
During the ceremony, Afzal Manglori was felicitated with awards, shawls, and bouquets. The Qalam Sadhna Foundation also presented awards in the names of literary and artistic personalities who have passed away.
The event concluded with a poetry recitation and mushaira, featuring poets like Farooq Argali, Talib rampuri,Monika Arora Mantasha, Sapna Ehsaas, Shashank Prabhakar , Prof jamil kamil, Anita Anand and others. The program was successfully conducted by Dr. Wasim Rashid.
Musharraf Ali khan was the convener/coordinator of this program.
