SHIEKH HASINA’s ‘DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT CANCELLED, Two high ranking officers at Delhi Embassy and Kolkata Commerce department sacked

The new interim government headed by the noble laureate Dr. Mohammed Yunus has cancelled the diplomatic passport of the former prime minister of Bangladesh Shiekh Hasina who is staying in India since the last 19 days having sought refuge in India, New Delhi after her plane landed at Hindon Airbase on 5 th August amid tremendous turmoil in Bangladesh with hundreds of human killings taking place and even the Prime minister’s residence looted by the protestors. The Indian national Security Advisor Ajit Doval and several senior defence officers escorted her to safer destination.

This is not the first time that the former prime minister Sheikh Hasina has sought refuge in the national capital.

In the year 1975 too she has sought refuge in New Delhi alongwith with her sister when the then Army chief Ziaur Rehman and his team of Army men had assassinated the Father of the nation , then PM Shiekh Muzibur Rehman, his two sons, wife and others in a cold blooded coup. Shiekh Mujibur Rehman is the father of Sheikh Hasina and the hero of Bangladesh liberation movement.

Apart from this development of cancelling the passport of Shiekh Hasina, former PM and Awami League supremo , two high ranking officers working in Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, and Kolkata India have been terminated from service.

The interim government of Dr. Mohammed Yunus has terminated the services of the high ranking officers ( Press) working in Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi and Kolkata prior to their term being expired.

These two terminated high ranking officers are Media ( Press ) Secretary Shabaan Mahmood in Delhi and and First Secretary ( Press) working at Commerce Embassy, KOLKATA.

Both these high ranking officers have been asked to leave their jobs and return back to Dhaka at the earliest.

This order of termination was issued on August 17 th and since then they are jobless.

Serving in Bangladesh Commerce Embassy as first Secretary ( Press) the services of Ranjan Sen were due till 2026. However, the first Press secretary working in Delhi Bangladesh High Commission Mr. Shabnam Mahmud who was on contractual basis had already resigned. These developments are taking place after the political developments taking place in Bangladesh.

It may be recalled that the main rival of the Awami League that ruled in Bangladesh for nearly fifteen years with Sheikh Hasina as PM , Bangladesh Nationalist Party wants repatriation of Shiekh Hasina to Bangladesh to try her there under various stringent rules . It is only because of this hidden strategy that the interim government has cancelled the diplomatic passport of Shiekh Hasina in order to put pressure on the Indian government to repatriate her to Bangladesh. But will this really happen is a moot question ? However, It won’t happen ever reveal authentic diplomatic sources as the Indian government always guarantees the safety and security of foreign dignitaries if in real problem as is the case with the former Bangladesh PM Shiekh Hasina. This is the set policy of the government to guarantee the safety of a foreign dignitaries, diplomats if any, who seek asylum, or refuge in India.
