Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati breathes his last at the age of 99 at Madhya Pradesh

Ninety nine years old Shankaracharya of Dwarkadheesh Peeth, one among four important Peeths of the country Swaroopanand Saraswati has breathed his last today. He died at Madhya Pradesh’s Jhoteshwar Dham near Hote hain in Narsimhpur district. After hearing the news of his death hundreds of his followers and disciples started coming to the Ashram to express their condolences and pay their obeisance. Shankaracharya of Dwarka Shardhapeeth and and jyotirmath Badrinath in Uttarakhand Swaroopanand Saraswati had celebrated his 99 th Birthday on 3 rd September. He was highly revered ami ng Hindus and all the top politicians, industrialists and seers were his disciples who used to throng his Ashram for seeking his obeisance and blessings. The president of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum Sunil Negi and the sr vice president of Uttarakhand Congress have expressed their condolences and paid heartfelt tributes to Shankaraacharya Swaroopanand Saraswatiji. Terming him as the biggest flag bearer of the Hindu religion Sunil Negi and Dhirendra Pratap said that on the passing away of Swaroopanandji the nation has lost the true protector n promotor of Hindu religion which dedicated his entire life to maintain the unity n integrity of the nation. Kindly recall that Shakaracharya Swamy Saraswati came into controversy several years ago when he objected to worshipping Lord Sai Ram urging Hindus not to do so.

The media hype of this controversy resulted in Shankaracharya releasing a poster in Bhopal exhibiting Lord Hanuman driving out the revered spiritual master ( God Sai) with a tree trunk har ghly objected by Sai supporters, followers and worshippers around the globe.

Also known as a revolutionary freedom fighter Shankaracharya was a freedom fighter at the mere age of 29 years having actively participated in Quit India movement led by Gandhiji. He served jail sentence for 9 months and five months.
