Several concessions announced by Uttarakhand CM, Sportsmen to be given govt jobs etc

Though the fiscal deficit of the Uttarakhand government has crossed a whopping Rs 65000 crores, more than the annual budget of the BJP led government – there is no dearth of concessions and launching of various new projects, including several populist announcements to entice the voters.

The spate of these announcements have crossed all limits, especially when the state assembly elections are just few months ago with the election code of conduct likely to be imposed shortly.

While an order from the office of governor of Uttarakhand has been issued today asking the meritorious deserving students of the economically deprived n weaker sections interested to seek admissions in medical, engineering, commerce and management cources requiring financial help may apply to his office latest by 6 th December, the Uttarakhand chief minister has also made several announcements providing financial relief to the inhabitants of Uttarakhand.

Among the various decisions taken by the chief minister today were : the new sports policy have been approved with enhancement in 30 to 50% economic help, the players will be given priority in govt jobs, free travel in state transport buses and Rs one thousand increment to “Bhojan Matayen” ( food mothers), decision to pay Rs 2100 on daily basis to PRD jawans, increasing daily allowance of Rs 70.

About thirty important decisions have been unanimously approved in the meeting of cabinet ministers chaired by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday, some of them being : the people affected under the Badrinath master plan will be given enhanced financial compensation under a new policy with allotment of houses to those demanding them, enhancement of Rs 1000 every month in the salary of food mothers, concessions to be given to the medical students will be applicable from this year, ( kindly recall that the MBBS fees have been lowered from Rs five lakhs to Rs 1.55 lakhs by the government recently), the fee imposed on the SCST n BPL families on 3.12 acres of land have been waived off, grant of permission for home stay in the lease lands, financial compensation to be granted to the land owners under whose land the electricity cables would be laid, concession on GST on electricity, employment to be given to 15000 people, extention in mega textile park policy etc.
