Seventeen senior and junior officers of forest department suspended for negligence in controlling massive fire in Uttarakhand

While in Uttarakhand massive Uttarakhand Jungle fires has led to hundreds of hectares of jungles being destroyed adversely affecting its flora and fauna with lakhs of insects, reptiles, carnivores, and multiples species dying the Uttarakhand government finding itself on defensive mode has no option but to suspend seventeen officials senior and junior with immediate effect to cover up their inefficiency, negligence and incompetence in controlling the massive fires. However, in Uttarakhand’s Kumaoni division where too the fire in jungles have been extensive the nature God has finally send rains resulting in dousing of these dangerous fires in jungles. Thank God. According to the list released by the suspending officers, senior and junior of forest department Gopal Dutt Joshi, District Forest Officer of Almora, Vipin Chandra Joshi, DFO Lansdowne, Kotdwar DFO, Pradeep Kumar Gaur, DFO Kedarnath Forest Wildlife division, Manoj Uniyal, Forest Inspector, Pauri, Ravindra Singh, Vinay Kumar, Surat Singh Rawat, Forest Guards n Driver, four forest inspectors of Haldwani, Champawat, Nainital and Kedarnath, Gopeshwar division and several other junior officers. The massive forest fires in Uttarakhand forests have led to destruction of hundreds of acres of forests land including five human deaths and damage of flora and fauna. There have been 350 criminal cases against those responsible for these forest fires in Uttarakhand. The Supreme Court is hearing a petition on Uttarakhand fires on Thursday. The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami has been to Rudraprayag today and have given photo shoots collecting pine needles through stick with pictures posted in social media platform X. He wrote : Today, after reaching Rudraprayag, I collected the Pirul leaves scattered in the forest and gave the message to everyone to connect with it. Dry Pirul leaves are the biggest cause of forest fires. I request all the people of the state to try to run this as a campaign on a large scale by joining hands with Yuvak Mangal Dal, Mahila Mangal Dal and self-help groups to save the forests around you. To prevent forest fires, the government is also working on the mission ‘Bring Pirul-Get Money’. Under this mission, Pirul will be purchased at the Pirul Collection Centre at the rate of ₹ 50/kg with the aim of reducing forest fires. This mission will be operated by the Pollution Control Board, for which a corpus fund of ₹ 50 crores will be kept separately said Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami through his X handle in social media.
