Senior Congress leaders criticize BJP for lodging fake cases through ED in National Herald matter. Terms the action as Vendetta politics
The senior leaders of Congress party today strongly criticized the BJP led NDA government for filing fabricated cases through ED chargesheets against former president Sonia Gandhi, leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi , Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda, Rajiv Gandhi’s school mate Suman Dubey and others in fraudulent takeover of AJL’s assets worth Rs.2000 crores terming the action as vendetta politics to avenge Nehru family and their associates in National Herald money laundering case. The senior Congress leader and former union minister in Dr.Manmohan Singh’s government Jairam Ramesh while strongly criticizing the BJP government in this country said that seizing the assets of the National Herald is a state-sponsored crime masquerading as the rule of law. Filing chargesheets against Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and some others is nothing but the politics of vendetta and intimidation by the PM and the HM gone completely berserk.The INC and its leadership will not be silenced. Satyameva Jayate said Jairam Ramesh through a post on X. The Rajya Sabha MP from Telengana and leading Supreme Court advocate , Congress leader Abhishekh Singhvi said that the National Herald case is entirely fake in which there is no fact. This case is being run out of political vengeance, which is unambiguously visible.Clarifying he said that to manage the old property of National Herald, a not for profit- Section 8 company was formed in which Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and others were associated. Neither dividend can be given in it nor any commercial transaction . He added that in this sequence a fabricated and false case has been created. In the same sequence the process of filing a charge sheet has also been done. This case is being dealt with legally since the beginning wrote Singhvi in X and also in a video released in social media. The former chief minister of Uttarakhand and Congress veteran Harish Rawat termed this action as vendetta politics and BJP’s low mentality . In a social media post Harish Rawat wrote in Hindi :
The ED’s action and filing of chargesheet against CPP Chairperson Mrs. #SoniyaGandhi ji and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi ji is extremely unfortunate. The vendetta politics going on in the country and accusing the opposition is another example of the BJP’s low mentality.
The Gandhi-Nehru family has made unprecedented contributions and sacrifices in the freedom struggle and in building the country. Entangling that family in false cases is a disgusting example of a conspiratorial mentality.
We will oppose this mentality and also unite the country with this important part of the fight to save democracy and enhance the Constitution wrote Harish Rawat on X.
Kindly recall that yesterday the the ED chargesheet was filed in the Rouse avenue court against Sonia , Rahul Gandhi, Sam Pitroda, Suman Dubey and others. The matter will be heard on 25 th April. The ED had issued notices to property registrars in Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow where the assets of Associated Journals Ltd acquired by Young India limited a company owned by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are located.
