Senior citizen living alone brutally killed by maneater with his mutilated body found after 2 days

In Uttarakhand due to the massive increase in construction activities and expeditious felling of trees in large numbers the wild animals , carnivorous have started leaving jungles and moving towards human habitats in search of their easy prey, humans being their easy targets . However human – wild animals struggle is an ancient phenomenon but in 21 st century the human encroachment in jungles compelling wild animals to run away has constrained them to take on humans for their survival before vanishing forever.

The threat of wild animals in the Salt region of Almora district of Uttarakhand is increasing day by day. The wild manesters are freely roaming around for human flesh in view of scarcity of prey inside jungles due to invasion by humans. The latest case is from Pokhari village in Maulekhal, where a dreaded leopard entered a house and made a 60-year-old man its prey.

This incident was extremely frightening because the elderly lived alone in the house and no one got to know about their death for two days. When the villagers got suspicious and went to inquire about their well-being, everyone was stunned to see the scene there.

The victim with her mutilated body has been identified as 60-year-old Gopal Singh, son of Raje Singh, who lived in his house alone. The suspicion arose as the Villagers could not see Gopal Singh for two days, which raised concerns.

When Shyam Singh of the village reached his house on Sunday morning, he was shocked as soon as he opened the door. Inside was the mutilated body of Gopal Singh, who had been attacked by a leopard. Seeing this scene, there was panic in the village and the forest department was immediately informed.

Since he was alone in the house, no one got to know about his death on time. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in the entire village, because wild animals have now started entering homes and attacking people.

Both sons of Gopal Singh live outside for employment, while his daughter is married in a nearby village.

As soon as the information was received, the forest department team reached the spot and forensic investigation was started. Forest department range officer Umesh Pandey said that efforts are on to identify the leopard and soon action will be taken to catch it by setting up a cage.
The forest department has appealed to people to be cautious and not to go out alone at night. This incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the entire area, and people are now forced to remain vigilant at all times.

The villagers say that the terror of the leopard is increasing continuously and they do not feel safe in their own homes. They have demanded from the government and the forest department to get rid of the terror of the leopard as soon as possible.
