The semi finals of the Uttarakhand Idol was held yesterday at the YWCA auditorium from morning till evening and out of sixty participants fourteen were selected by the jury comprising of eminent singer of Uttarakhand Ramesh Farendiya, Dr. Kusum Bhatt and Mrs Rekha Bagari.
The finale of the event event is scheduled for 14 th October at Talkatora Indoor stadium.
The participants in the finale will be singing for the whole day on 14 th October in Garhwal, Kumaoni and Jaunsari dialects with the musicians giving them the incessant company out of which the first, second and third melodious singers will be chosen by the judges of the event.
The semi final held on 20 September was interesting with a ten hours marathon singing session which led to churning of the singers and judges, finally selecting fifteen contestants for the finale out of total sixty.
The event has been conceptualised by Chandan Singh and Brijesh Bhandari.
Many prominent filmmakers , actors, journalists and scriptwriters including literatures of Uttarakhand were present on this occassion namely Sushila Rawat, first woman director of Uttarakhand cinema, eminent actor of regional Uttarakhand movies, Khushal Singh Rawat , senior journalist Sunil Negi, Rakesh Gaur, eminent actor, director and producer Uttarakhandi films, ACP, singer and renowned actor of Hindi and Uttarakhand films Padmemdra Singh Rawat, singer Mr. Bangari, renowned film maker Manoj Chandola etc. Mr. Padmemdra Rawat gave presentation of his melodious Garhwali songs compelling the audience to enjoy his attractive and soothing voice with magnificent enthralling music.
The budding singers ranged from the age of fourteen to above fifty coming from the mountains and valleys of Uttarakhand to exhibit their outstanding hidden talent as singers. Mr. Manoj Chandola announced that he wi in the near future given chance to few budding singers of Uttarakhand Idol to sing few sings for his upcoming film Bala Goria which is near completion. The event was dexterously anchored by famous actor also well versed in comic roles in Garhwali movies PANNU GUSAIN. Kudos.
