SDRF made Chirbasa, Gangotri helipad smooth by removing boulders and debris, airlifted 60 passengers.

On the directives of Smt. Ridhim Aggarwal, Inspector General of Police, SDRF, its rescue teams are continuously engaged in rescue work on the Shri Kedarnath Yatra route.

Giving necessary directions to the rescue teams, Shri Manikant Mishra reached Bhimbali helipad by a chopper from Sirsi, from where he conducted the search operation with the SDRF team and reached Chirbasa, near Gangotri 05 km further through a very inaccessible and damaged road.

Due to falling of boulders on the helipad in Cheerwasa, there was obstruction in landing of the helicopter, on which the boulder and extra material were removed from the helipad by the SDRF team on the instructions of Commander SDRF, after which 60 passengers were airlifted from Chirwasa.

Due to the rise in the water level of the river in the morning, it was not possible to evacuate the passengers from the river bank, due to which the rescue operation was conducted again today through the hilly alternative route.

Around 1000 devotees have been evacuated by SDRF during the ongoing rescue operation from the hilly route in Munkatiya between Sonprayag and Gaurikund.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the government has appointed Commissioner, Garhwal Division as the nodal officer for the restoration of infrastructure in the areas of Kedarnath Yatra route affected by heavy rains in Rudraprayag district.

In the orders issued by Secretary, Public Works Department, Shri Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu, it has been said that as per the instructions given by the Chief Minister for the rescue of life and property affected by heavy rains on the Kedarnath Yatra route in Rudraprayag district recently and the restoration of the infrastructure of the Yatra route. Senior officials of the Energy Department nominated by the Secretary, Disaster Management Department, Secretary, Public Works Department and Secretary, Energy Department will immediately visit the district and ensure rescue and restoration arrangements for which the commissioner Garhwal Division will be the Nodal officer.
