SC says Kejrival will have to surrender on 2 nd June by all means !

The lower court to high court to Supreme Court, all are busy hearing the cases of several politicians sending them to incarceration and then granting bails and interim bail to the Delhi CM till 1 st June, 2024.

The Delhi CM is busy these days extensively campaigning for AAP candidates in Delhi and Punjab including Congress candidates with whom they have tie up in Delhi, though both AAP and Congress are the important members of Indian National Inclusive Developmental Alliance. Kejrival is in Punjab today campaigning with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Singh Mann. Yesterday and day before he was in the national capital campaigning for AAP n INDIA conglomerate candidates.

Today the Supreme Court today heard the petition filed in Supreme Court against the interim bail granted to Arvind Kejrival till June 1st.

Hearing the petition the two judge bench of Supreme Court consisting of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Dipankar Dutta categorically said that Arvind Kejrival will have to surrender on 2 nd June.

He has been accorded interim bail till June 1 st for 21 days. The Delhi CM was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a liquor scam connected to the Delhi government’s New Excise Policy now revoked, on 21 March after which judicial custody given for 14 days earlier , and later on extended by the Delhi Rouse Avenue district sessions court till 20 th May but was finally granted an interim bail by the Supreme Court for 21 days till June 1 to enable him campaign for his party candidates.

However, he was forbidden to go to his office and sign any government files or documents.

Before being in judicial custody he was handed over to ED for interrogation for several days by the Court. Thereafter Delhi CM has filed a petition in High Court challenging his arrest as arbitrary and illegal saying that immense injustice have been done to him thus hitting the tenets of democracy.

Representing the ED petition the solicitor general Tushar Mehta had appeared in the SC opposing the interim bail and the grounds there in.

Giving arguments in front of the two judge bench solicitor general while strongly opposed the interim bail given to Kejrival and the grounds there in, he also brought to the notice of the court the highly objectionable version of Kejrival in a public meeting appealing to the voters that if they vote for him, his party and INDIA he will not have to go to jail again but the court was not prepared to listen him saying, that the court is not interested in this controversy.

Our order is absolutely clear that he will have to surrender on 2 nd June.

Kindly recall that Arvind Kejrival was granted interim bail on keeping the hearing delayed till 2nd June. Even if the hearing is complete today, it won’t have any impact on the interim bail as on 2 nd Kejrival have to surrender by all means.

After being released by the SC from Tihar prison Arvind Kejrival has extensively campaigned and addressed several meetings, did road shows and press conferences accusing the BJP n PM Modi on various counts.

Today he is in Punjab and yesterday he had jointly campaigned with candidates of Congress too viz Kanhaiya Kumar, J.P.Aggrawal and Udit Raj urging people to vote for them by pressing the button of Hand symbol not “jhadu” and it they will vote for him he won’t go to jail again.
