The cabinet minister of Tourism, PWD, Culture, Punchayati Raj, spiritual tourism , Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj has categorically said that he will order an enquiry into the emergency landing of the private chopper carrying five – six pilgrims to Kedarnath on a highway at Baransu, Rudraprayag due to a technical snag though he appreciated the pilot of the chopper for using brains and safely landing the helicopter saving the lives of all the passengers with immense dexterity. However, the pilot was injured but not with grievous injuries and was hospitalized immediately. The emergency landing of the private chopper carrying 6 passengers to Kedarnath damaged a taxi which fortunately wasn’t occupied through its tail and chopper blades. No heli services were affected by this emergency landing however, reveal the news reports. It may be recalled that on May 8 , six passengers had died when a private chopper crashed carrying seven passengers to Kedarnath Dham at Gangnani, Uttarkashi with ine critically injured and on May 17 a Helicopter ambulance from AIIMS Rishikesh crash landed near Kedarnath helipad in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand though fortunately the three occupants were safe, hale and hearty one being a doctor, another a paramedic and the pilot. Earlier on May 12, a helicopter returning from Badrinath to Sersi with pilgrims on board was forced to make an emergency landing due to poor visibility in a school playground in Ukhimath though all pilgrims were safe. The chopper restarted after the weather improved.
