Samajwadi party activists thrash a Maulana for uttering derogatory remarks against Samajwadi Party MP and wife of Akhilesh Yadav inside News Nation Studio’s live show
The level of debates in News Channels has stooped so low that those participating in these debates including the news anchors are so furious that they forget the ethical values of journalism and shouting at each other forgetting that they are being watched.
Sometimes the political leaders of ideologically adverse thoughts are so ruthless that they physically attack each other forgetting that there are norms everywhere and they are not the wrestlers in Akhara but in a news studio to express their views being viewed by millions of viewers.
Even the news channels have unfortunately become the spokesman of political parties especially those in power and while in debates give an unambiguous impression of siding with particular political party or ideology whereas the the societal and journalistic norms and ethics suggest that the anchor or scribes , considered to be the fourth most important pillar of democracy has to be impartial and transparent.
However, the situation these days is topsy turvy.
The anchors of the news channel shout so loudly as if they are speaking without mike and this hyper attitude of the anchors also infuriate the political leaders who remain ready in studious to physically fight with their rivals forgetting that they are not in the wrestling ground but in a studio of a news channel being watched by millions of people in their homes, offices and various places.
Though we have been witnessing fisticuffs in studious abroad top but here the situation seems to be more awry as people watching TV news have now gradually starting giving up watching news due to the partisan behaviour of the news anchors and the channel owners giving an unambiguous inclination of siding with the ruling political dispensation. Unfortunately, just today in a studio of a news channel News Nation, a politician / Maulana in a debate was literally thrashed in the studio by a Samajwadi party leaders/ activists whose leader was insulted by the derogatory remarks by the Maulana, the victim.
According to a latest news MASSIVE drama on News Nation Studio live TV occured today when SP workers slapped Maulana Rashid at the News Nation studio after he made a derogatory comment about Dimple Yadav. Insulting remarks & physical retaliation — both are wrong. Political debates shouldn’t turn into street fights. When this physical attack was going on the news anchor of News Nation, earlier in Rajya Sabha TV and running his personal channel as well with the name Devbhoomi Dialogue highlighting Uttarakhand issues was also there who tried to intervene.
