Dehradun

In a unique and proactive initiative, the Uttarakhand Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) is bringing all key stakeholders of the real estate sector—including builders, buyers, agents, and others on a common platform. To this end, a workshop is being organized on April 24 at the IRDT Auditorium, Survey Chowk, Dehradun. The workshop will be held in four sessions, with Chief Secretary Shri Anand Vardhan inaugurating the event.

Shri Rabindra Panwar, Chairman of Uttarakhand RERA and a former IAS officer, stated that the workshop will involve comprehensive discussions on key issues and ongoing challenges in the real estate sector. The aim is to develop actionable strategies for resolving these issues and to foster the growth of a robust real estate ecosystem in the state.

The workshop will see participation from senior officials across government , administration, housing and urban development, development authorities, town and country planning, banks, as well as professionals such as chartered accountants, engineers, architects, and legal experts.

In the knowledge session, RERA members Shri Naresh Mathpal and Shri Amitabha Maitra will deliver detailed presentations covering stakeholder-specific concerns, the progress of RERA implementation in Uttarakhand, and key legal considerations.

The third session will be a panel discussion featuring voices from across the real estate landscape—including buyers, builders, RWA representatives, RERA officials, and legal experts. Panelists will include RERA Member Shri Naresh Mathpal, Uttarakhand representative of NARDCO Shri Manoj Joshi, legal expert Dr. Aman Rab, and Shri S.K. Jain from Siddharth Apartments, Dehradun. The session will be moderated by Shri Anoop Nautiyal, Founder of SDC Foundation, Dehradun.

Additionally, an open house session will provide all participants an opportunity to share their views, concerns, and suggestions.

Shri Rabindra Panwar expressed confidence that the workshop will yield positive outcomes. He mentioned that key policy recommendations emerging from the event will be analyzed at the RERA level and forwarded to the state government for further action. The goal is to accelerate the growth of the real estate sector in Uttarakhand while reducing disputes and grievances within the system.

The unscientific and environmentally unfriendly development in Uttarakhand especially in Dehradun with commercial and multistorey buildings including builders flats mushrooming cutting several hundred trees making the state capital congested and overcrowded including unwanted structural development in plains of the state have led to tremendous worries among the sensible and enlightened citizens of Dehradun. It is hoped that this convention will comprehensively devise an incredible way out of the ongoing mess of overcrowding of Dehradun and other townships of Uttarakhand with commercialisation , unscientific and environmentally unfriendly development taking the front seat and public safety and environmental viability the back seat.
