Renowned Bollywood director Esmayeel Shroff is no more. Died at the age of 62 in Mumbai !
A renowned Bollywood director Esmayeel Shroff who was just 62 years old today breathed his last at Kokila Ben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai where he was admitted after a severe brain stroke. His sudden sad demise has shocked the entire film industry, in Mumbai in particular.
Esmayeel Shroff had directed several movies viz Thodi Si Bewafai, Aahista Aahista, Bulandi, Soorya, Love 86 and some other movies featuring top stars like first super star Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Govinda, Rajkumar, Shabana Aazmi, Padmani Kohlapure etc.
According to the latest news Esmayeel Shroff was not keeping good health for long time and was under constant treatment.
The top star of Bollywood Govind was given debut in Love 86 by Ismayeel Shroff said the star. Govind on hearing the sad news was shocked. He expressed his deepest condolences saying that he got the debut in films because of him. May the departed soul rest in peace said Govinda.
Terming him as his Godfather of film industry Govinda said that not only he gave me roles but also trusted me the most evaluating me as a matured actor with understanding of cinema.
Renowned actress Padmani Kolhapure said – I had worked with Esmayeel Shroff in Aahista Aahista and Thodi Si Bewafai which were very close to me.
While expressing her grief over his sad demise she said he was an outstanding director, though strict too, but his face always smiling. As an actor- director I moved with him very nicely. He was a sensitive director and as asset for Bollywood.
His untimely passing away is a huge loss to Bollywood neigh to impossible to be filled said Padmini Kohlapure. There is an interesting story that goes on about Esmayeel Shroff. After his film Thodi Si bevafai became superhit Esmayil had signed Rajesh Khanna and Sabhana Azmi for Pigalta. But this project was shelved after sometime. After few days of shooting Shabana and Rajesh Khanna opted out finally putting the film in quandary. But fortunately the film which would havv been shelved was saved by Shashi Kapoor and, Rakhi who stepped in at the Nick of the time saving the project ( Pighalta Aasman) of Esmayeel Shroff.
The real name of Esmyeel Shroff was S. V. Esmayeel who given several super duper hit movies. RIP
