Rekha Gupta sworn in as Delhi CM with six cabinet ministers. Two ministers have criminal cases against them. No Uttarakhandi in the cabinet

The first term state legislature from Shalimar Bagh, having lost two earlier elections of MLA from the same seat at the hands of Vandana Singh of AAP Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the fourth woman chief minister of the national capital at Ram Lila Grounds in the presence of thousands of people and BJP activists. The chief minister Rekha Gupta and six cabinet ministers were sworn in at Ram Lila Grounds by the Leutienant Governor Vinay Saxena. The prime minister Narendra Modi, union Home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh, Health minister and BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda, chief ministers of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, his cabinet colleagues, Chief ministers of Rajasthan Bhajan Lal and Mohan Yadav of MP etc were also present on this ocassion. Among the six cabinet ministers sworn in there are four criminal cases against two ministers, one criminal against Parvesh Verma and three cases against Kapil Mishra. Parvesh Verma has defeated Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi parliamentary constituency who was the third term MLA while Kapil Mishra was earlier in AAP and was minister in Kejrival’s cabinet for a short term. The six cabinet ministers sworn in after the swearing in of Rekha Gupta as Delhi CM are Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, Ravindra Indra Raj Singh and Pankaj Kumar Singh. There are reports that the first cabinet meeting will take place today itself in which several important decisions will be taken with the most significant decision in cleansing of Yamuna, the issue in which the BJP politicians have been extremely vocal accusing the former AAP CM and supremo Arvind Kejrival for being inefficient in cleaning the Yamuna despite giving several assurances in the public. The new BJP government led by the first time state lawmakers Rekha Gupta will now have to perform and fulfill her party’s all the poll promises, the very first being giving monthly dole of Rs.2500 to the women and several other freebies including the assurance of continuing the freebies announced by the previous AAP government. It remains to be seen as to how efficiently the current BJP government works on cleaning the Yamuna, fulfilling all the freebies related assurances, keeping Delhi pollution free, clean drinking water for Delhi, neat and clean Delhi , health facilities to the Delhi wallahs including quality education, free medicines and free treatment to the senior citizens of Delhi etc. This time there have been no Uttarakhandi in the cabinet despite the hard fact that from Punjabi Sikh community two were given representations in the cabinet. Mohan Singh Bisht , the senior most MLA winning six times and a dedicated soldier of BJP hailing from Uttarakhand has been left out whereas the first timer losing two back to back elections has been made the CM raising eyebrows in the party. The population of people from Uttarakhand in Delhi is around 20 lakh and the number of Sikhs is around 6 lakh, but BJP has not selected anyone from Uttarakhand for the post of minister. This shows how the people of Uttarakhand have been sidelined and insulted by the BJP say some of the social leaders on the condition of not being named.

In politics there are no set standards of consideration. Just see here the first timer MLA , having lost back to back two times, becomes the CM and the one who defeated the former Delhi CM and aap Supremo Arvind Kejrival and was twice an MP and MLA twice , never lost ever, is a minister under her. WOW
