RAMDEV, ACHARYA BALKISHAN TENDER APOLOGIES. NEXT DATE FIXED FOR 23 rd APRIL

Globally renowned Yog Guru who had years before extensively campaigned for the saffron party assuring bringing back the black money stashed in foreign banks, Baba Ramdev is in really mess these days.

The Supreme Court has accused him and the MD of Patanjali Acharya Balkishan for contempt and the case is still going on in the Apex court.

On Tuesday, the two judge bench of Supreme Court comprising of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Amanullah lauded Ram Dev and Acharya Balkishan that they have undoubtedly done lot of work in Ayurveda and carry lot of prestige but that doesn’t mean that you should degrade the other form of medicines like allopathy etc through your advertisements.

The two judge bench asked Ramdev as to why he has committed the contempt of court. The counsel for Ramdev and Acharya Mukul Rohtagi said in front of the bench that they are ready to tender apologies publicly so that the people of the nation understand that we are really serious to honour the directives of the Apex court.

On this, according to ABP news Justice Amanullah responded that for this you don’t need the advise of the SC bench.

Another Justice Hima Kohli asked Baba Ramdev about the breach commited against the court by him, asking is it correct ? Ramdev replied to this saying Madam justice for this we have already sought apologies without any preconditions for our mistakes .

Justice Hima Kohli said, this has already been said by your counsel but we want to ask as to what prompted you to hold the press conference the other day after giving undertaking to the court.

The Ayurveda is quite ancient in our country since the period of Maharishi Charak. Even our grandmother’s treat with herbal medicines – Ayurveda. Why do you criticise the other form of medicines. Do you think that only one system of medicine should prevail asked justice Kohli ?

To this Baba Ramdev responded that they have undertaken lot of reasearch on Ayurveda. The Judge said it’s OK and you can pursue it legally, not by way of violating law. I want to know as to why have you committed contempt of court asked justice Kohli ?

Ramdev further replied saying that he has little knowledge of law and they were busy in delivering the knowledge of reasearch of Ayurveda to the people.

The judge asked how can you claim to be the guaranteed curer of critical illnesses through Ayurveda medicines.

Legally, the publicity of the cure through Ayurveda of these critical illnesses is not allowed. If you had devised any medicine for the cure of critical illnesses you should have approached the concerned government department through legal means so that the work on that could have been pursued further.

On this, Baba Ramdev said that we were actually giving the information to the people about these Ayurvedic medicines out of enthusiasm. We promise you that we will follow these rules in future as we are feeling extremely degraded standing here as well.

Justice Amanullah said you should not have criticised the Alopathic medicines and instead should have pursued with your research.

Baba Ramdev felt extremely sorry promising not to repeat this blunder in future adding that the rivalry between allopathy and ayurveda is quite old.

However, justice Kohli said that she don’t believe in the version of Ramdev about having less knowledge of law as the counsel of his had already given the undertaking to the court. Therefore we will still see whether we will accept your written apologies or not in the near future. In between Acharya Balkishan tried to explain that Ramdev has nothing to do with the work of Patanjali. To this justice Amanullah said you are arguing with us . Don’t you know that after seeking written apologies you can’t argue.

Baba Ramdev immediately said with folded hands that we repeatedly seek apologies for our blunder from honourable court. Meanwhile, their counsel, senior supreme court advocate Mukul Rohtagi urged for a week’s time. Giving time till 23 rd April for next hearing Justice Kohli said that we’ll think on the matter of contempt in the next hearing giving Ramdev and Acharya Balkishan some serious in instructions to be followed.
